Chicken & Dumplings
Splawn praised the chicken and gravy as flavorful and generous. Her main reservation was texture: after microwaving, the dumplings became somewhat soft. That matters if you prefer dumplings with more firmness, though the review’s impression was that the sauce and portion were strong points.
Shrimp & Grits
Splawn liked the dish’s flavor and said it contained a good amount of shrimp. She found it milder than the packaging’s spicy description led her to expect, and added hot sauce. It may be a better fit for someone who wants shrimp with cheesy grits and a savory sauce than for someone counting on pronounced heat straight from the tray.

How should you prepare the meals?
Splawn reported that the single-serve meals had both microwave and oven directions: microwave times ranged from four to six minutes, and oven times from 35 to 40 minutes. Those ranges are from her review, not a guarantee for every meal or package. Follow the directions printed on the product you buy, since instructions can vary or change.

Where were the meals sold?
Dolly Parton’s official announcement said the meals were available at major grocery retailers across the United States. Target and Walmart listings also show the branded meals, but an online listing does not establish that a particular store has stock or that delivery is available to a given address. Check the retailer’s current local listing before making a trip.
