What the ring looks like

- a larger culet; and
- a distinctive, less uniform pattern of light return.
That older cut gives the ring a vintage character rather than the crisp, symmetrical appearance usually associated with a modern oval or oval brilliant diamond.
The yellow-gold setting
Published descriptions identify the ring as having a yellow-gold bezel setting. A bezel surrounds the edge of the center stone with a rim of metal, rather than holding it primarily with separate prongs. The result is a substantial-looking frame around the diamond and a softer, antique-inspired silhouette.
Reports also describe engraving or filigree work along the band, with smaller accent stones positioned beside the center diamond. Those details matter because the ring is not simply a large stone placed in a conventional setting. Its visual identity comes from the combination of the old-mine cut, warm gold, surrounding metalwork and decorative band.
Who designed Taylor Swift’s ring?
Kelce designed the ring with Kindred Lubeck, founder of New York-based Artifex Fine Jewelry. Lubeck is a goldsmith and hand engraver known for vintage jewelry and one-of-a-kind antique stones.
Swift later explained that she had shown Kelce Lubeck’s work about a year and a half before the proposal. She did not realize at the time that he had remembered the designer. According to Swift’s account, Kelce used that information when creating the ring with Lubeck and kept the finished design as a surprise.

This distinction is important: Swift introduced Kelce to Lubeck’s work, but public accounts describe Kelce and Lubeck as the people who designed the ring. Swift did not co-design it.
The hand-engraved details
Swift specifically praised Lubeck’s hand-engraved gold work during an interview with the U.K. program Heart Breakfast on October 3, 2025. Hand engraving is done directly into the metal with specialized tools, allowing a jeweler to create lines, patterns and ornamental textures that differ slightly from machine-produced decoration.
On a ring built around an antique-style diamond, that kind of work reinforces the historical look. It also makes the piece more individual: the decorative band is part of the design rather than an interchangeable setting selected after the stone was chosen.
When the ring was first seen
The first public reveal came on August 26, 2025, when Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Instagram. A close-up view of the ring appeared among the announcement photographs, giving viewers a clear look at the stone and its yellow-gold setting.
Swift later wore it at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on March 26, 2026. Vogue described that appearance as the ring’s red-carpet debut.

How big—and how expensive—is it?

Why the design attracted so much attention
