What do the “For Good” tattoos with Cynthia Erivo mean?
Grande and her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo have matching “For Good” tattoos on their palms, referencing the musical’s duet. In 2025, Grande explained that the tattoos commemorated what the two were experiencing, creating, and feeling during the work—not the film’s eventual outcome. She said they got them after filming the song.

Teen Vogue reported Grande’s words in an account of the pair’s social posts. Director Jon M. Chu recalled advising the actors to wait until they had seen the movie before getting tattoos about it, but said they got them during rehearsal. How do music and Wicked feature in the collection?
Several reported tattoos connect directly to Grande’s music or career. “R.E.M.” names an album, and “SWT” commemorates the Sweetener World Tour. The leaves and the earlier “Always” design
The same guide says leaves appeared across the location of an earlier “Always” tattoo. At the time, Grande rejected calling the leaves a cover-up and wrote, “Not a cover up just evolvin.” That statement records her description then; it does not establish the present condition of every tattoo in the area.
The “I do love you” lettering
Vogue reported that Grande debuted the collarbone script “I do love you” during a London tour performance in August 2026. The publication said it was thought to match a tattoo belonging to Ricky Álvarez. That proposed connection is an interpretation reported by Vogue, not a confirmed explanation from Grande in the cited account.
