Why was A$AP Rocky’s trial delayed?
In October 2024, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mark S. Arnold moved Rocky’s expected 10-day trial from November 12, 2024, to January 21, 2025, following a defense request. The reasons given were Rocky’s travel commitments, the Thanksgiving holiday, and an unresolved evidence issue. Prosecutors said the complainant, A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron), tentatively accepted the new date. Rolling Stone Australia reported the postponement and hearing.

Was Rihanna expected to attend?
At the October 2024 hearing, Judge Arnold asked defense lawyer Joe Tacopina, “Do you expect the mother of his children is going to be here?” Tacopina said he was unsure. Afterward, he described the question of attendance as “a family decision they have to make.” So, at that point, her appearance had not been confirmed. Yes. Rihanna appeared in court during the trial and was present for the verdict. In February 2025, a jury found Rocky not guilty of both felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. How is the 2026 home-shooting case different?
A later case concerns allegations against Ivanna Ortiz over a shooting at the couple’s home. It is separate from Rocky’s completed assault trial and does not change its verdict. In September 2026, a judge found Ortiz competent to stand trial, and a grand jury indictment was unsealed the next day, charging her with 14 felony counts, including attempted murder. These are allegations, not findings of guilt. The Associated Press reported on the competency ruling and the indictment. The reports cited here do not establish a future hearing date.
