September 2025 brought a deliberately varied Prime Video selection: returning genre series, adult animation, licensed movies, Korean crime comedy and food television. This is a curated retrospective of nine notable additions—not a complete catalog—and “new” may mean a new season, a Prime Video premiere, a new-to-Prime movie or an ongoing rollout. Dates and availability can differ by country, time zone, subscription tier and licensing status.
For U.S. viewers, confirm each title’s current Prime Video page before starting. A listing on Prime Video does not automatically mean a title was included with a U.S. Prime membership at no extra charge.

The selection favors variety and distinctive premises rather than a strict ranking. It mixes Amazon-associated productions with licensed programming, and several entries are violent or intended for adults.
Gen V Season 2
What it is
This second season returns to Godolkin University, where superpowered students compete inside the violent world established by The Boys. The original coverage gave September 17, 2025 as its release date, but Prime Video pages can show different dates by territory; one Philippine listing displayed September 30. Treat September 17 as a market-specific date, not a worldwide launch.

- Multiple gift card designs and denominations to choose from.
- Redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com or certain affiliated websites.
- Available for immediate delivery. Gift cards sent by email can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
- No returns and no refunds on Gift Cards.
Who should watch
Start with The Boys and Gen V Season 1 if you want the political satire, characters and continuity to land properly. It is a poor choice for viewers seeking family superhero entertainment: expect graphic violence and adult themes.
Verdict
Best overall pick. Among these nine, it is the most recognizable returning genre series, provided you are already invested in its universe.
Helluva Boss
What it is
Vivienne Medrano’s adult animated comedy follows the Immediate Murder Professionals, demonic assassins who take jobs on Earth while their relationships and internal conflicts become increasingly complicated. The Prime Video listing identifies Amazon Studios and lists 12 episodes for Season 2.
Release and content notes
Localized Prime Video pages show September 9 or September 10, 2025, so the calendar date depends on territory. The official listing warns of violence, drug use, alcohol, smoking, profanity, sexual content and flashing lights. The series appeals to much the same audience as Hazbin Hotel, but it is a separate show and does not require that series as preparation.

Best for animation fans. Choose it for character-driven dark comedy, not for a conventional children’s cartoon or a competition format.

Novocaine
What it is
Jack Quaid plays a man who cannot feel physical pain and turns that condition into an unlikely advantage while trying to rescue a woman from attackers. The premise supplies the movie’s central comic engine: injuries that would stop an ordinary hero do not stop him in the same way.
Who should watch
This is a breezy, violent action comedy with a conventional reluctant-hero structure. Comparisons to movies such as Nobody, Kate and Kick-Ass are useful tonal shorthand, not official classifications or shared-universe links.
Verdict
Best action movie for an easy night. Watch for the high concept, brisk set pieces and Quaid’s performance rather than an unusually complex thriller.
American Horror Story Season 13
What it is
The anthology’s thirteenth season was identified as a September 24, 2025 arrival in the source coverage, which described the announcement as a surprise and offered limited story detail. Because licensed rights vary, confirm that Season 13 was available in your Prime Video territory and whether it was included, rented or supplied through another channel.
Who should watch
Anthology structure makes a new season comparatively accessible: you generally do not need to watch every earlier installment. However, “anthology” does not mean interchangeable; each season can differ sharply in subject, tone and intensity. Expect horror, violence and disturbing imagery.
Rank #3

- Redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com or certain affiliated websites.
- Available for immediate delivery. Gift cards sent by email can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
- No returns and no refunds on Gift Cards.
Verdict
Best horror option. It is a sensible entry point for newcomers who prefer a self-contained season, subject to local availability.
The Girlfriend
What it is
Adapted from Michelle Frances’s novel, this thriller centers on a wealthy mother who distrusts the working-class woman dating her son. Robin Wright stars and is also described in the coverage as a writer and executive producer; Olivia Cooke plays the girlfriend.

Who should watch
The tension comes from class, family power, romance and manipulation rather than action. The premise deliberately leaves open whether the girlfriend is being judged unfairly or is concealing motives, so the most useful introduction is the conflict itself rather than a spoiler.
Verdict
Best relationship thriller. Pick it over the action titles if you want psychological pressure and shifting loyalties. Mature relationship themes and manipulation are central.
Black Bag
What it is
Steven Soderbergh directs Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett and Pierce Brosnan in a spy thriller about an agent investigating whether his wife is a traitor. The espionage plot is built around marital trust, secrecy and betrayal.
Rank #4
- Gift Card is redeemable towards millions of items storewide at Amazon.com
- Gift Card has no fees and no expiration date
- Gift Card is affixed inside a mini envelope
- Free One-Day Shipping (where available)
- Scan and redeem any Gift Card with a mobile or tablet device via the Amazon App
Who should watch
This is the most adult, performance-led movie in the selection: dry humor and relationship drama matter as much as operational suspense. It contains violence, but its main attraction is the marriage at the center of the investigation.

Best movie for prestige-minded viewers. Choose it when you want controlled spy drama rather than a nonstop action spectacle; the traitor question is best discovered while watching.

What it is
Ke Huy Quan plays a former assassin who tries to live normally before violence pulls him back in. The contrast between Quan’s gentle public persona and the character’s lethal past supplies the movie’s central appeal.
Who should watch
It follows a familiar former-killer-returning-to-action structure. Calling it “John Wick-like” is a tonal or structural comparison only; it is not part of that franchise. Expect stylized violence and an accessible action-comedy approach.
Verdict
Best lightweight action comedy for a comeback-performance enthusiast. Watch for Quan’s charisma and physicality more than novelty in the basic premise.

Dish It Out
What it is
Hosted by Tilly Ramsay, this food-and-lifestyle series explores recipes, viral food trends, ingredients and celebrity appearances. It is not primarily an elimination competition or a traditional cook-off.
Who should watch
Choose it when you want low-stakes, food-centered viewing. Gordon Ramsay may appear, but the format does not make him the main host.
Verdict
Best low-commitment option. It suits casual viewing and viewers who want food entertainment without competition pressure.
Confidence Queen
What it is
This South Korean crime comedy-drama follows three con artists who turn their skills against people who scam others, giving the setup a Robin Hood flavor. Park Min-young is identified as the central conwoman.
Release pattern and audience
The source coverage noted that only two episodes had aired when it was published, indicating a staggered or ongoing rollout rather than a complete-season binge. Check the U.S. Prime Video page for the current episode schedule. It is aimed at viewers who enjoy stylish cons, ensemble chemistry, Korean drama and lighter crime stories.
Verdict
Best international pick. Start it if you prefer episode-by-episode anticipation; wait if you only watch completed seasons.
How to choose—and what “new” meant
- Start with Gen V if you already follow The Boys and want a returning genre series.
- Choose Black Bag for adult espionage and marriage-driven suspense.
- Choose Novocaine or Love Hurts for accessible action comedy.
- Choose American Horror Story for anthology horror, after checking local rights.
- Choose Confidence Queen for Korean crime comedy and a rolling release.
- Choose Dish It Out for relaxed food television.
- Choose Helluva Boss only if adult animation and its content warnings fit your household.
These recommendations should not be read as proof that all nine were U.S. Prime-included titles for the entire month. September 2025 included new seasons, new Prime Video series, new-to-Prime movies, licensed catalog additions and at least one continuing episode rollout. Availability could also shift after the month ended.
Where to verify access
For membership details, use Amazon Prime. Check each title’s Prime Video page for country, plan, rental or purchase status before assuming it is included. A Fire TV device can provide a dedicated interface at Amazon’s Fire TV page, but hardware does not unlock titles unavailable in your territory.
