The 7 New Movies and TV Shows to Stream on Netflix, Prime Video, Max, and More This Weekend (September 13) were a historical 2024 lineup: Civil War on Max, Uglies on Netflix, LEGO Star Wars on Disney+, plus returning favorites and specials. The dates and platforms describe the original U.S.-oriented guide, not current August 2026 availability.
The seven selections are best treated as a mood-and-platform guide rather than a ranked list. Choose by viewing commitment: a feature film, a four-part special, a weekly reality rollout or a returning serialized drama.
Key takeaways
- This September 13 streaming guide is historical: the source article was published on September 13, 2024, not August 2026.
- Civil War was the intense adult movie pick and began streaming on Max in the United States on September 13, 2024.
- Uglies arrived on Netflix on September 13, 2024 and adapts Scott Westerfeld’s 2005 novel.
- LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy released all four parts on Disney+ on September 13, 2024.
- The Circle season 7 started on September 11, 2024 and rolled out weekly rather than dropping as a complete season.

These platform and date details describe the original U.S.-oriented publication context. Streaming rights change by country and over time, so the table should not be treated as a current August 2026 availability list. The original seven-title selection is documented by TechRadar’s September 13, 2024 streaming roundup.

Which pick is best for a romantic comedy night?
Emily in Paris season 4, part 2 is the easiest choice for glossy romantic comedy, relationship drama, fashion and a familiar returning cast. Netflix said part 2 premiered on September 12, 2024, continuing the season after part 1’s debut.
The show’s second half moves Emily toward a Roman holiday storyline, giving viewers a change of scenery while retaining the series’ light, escapist tone. According to Netflix’s August 20, 2024 announcement, Emily in Paris season 4, part 1 debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s English TV list with 19.9 million views in its first reporting week. That figure describes part 1’s debut, not the performance of part 2.
Is LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy a good family choice?
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is the clearest family-friendly pick because the four-part animated special combines familiar Star Wars characters and world-building with LEGO’s deliberately playful style. Disney+ released all four parts exclusively on September 13, 2024.
The story follows Sig Greebling, an ordinary nerf-herder who discovers a powerful artifact in a hidden Jedi temple and accidentally scrambles the Star Wars galaxy. The premise makes franchise familiarity useful, but viewers do not need a serious Star Wars viewing commitment to understand the basic appeal. Disney+’s official announcement describes the project as a four-part animated special.

Where could viewers watch Civil War?
Civil War was the major Max movie pick in the September 13, 2024 U.S. guide, and U.S. streaming began on Max that day. The film is the strongest option for an adult movie night built around political dystopia, military tension, violence and cinematic scale.
Alex Garland’s film follows military-embedded journalists racing toward Washington, D.C., before rebel factions reach the White House. The premise makes Civil War a more intense commitment than the lighter or shorter choices in this list. Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed the U.S. Max streaming date in its official September streaming announcement.
When did The Circle season 7 episodes come out?
The Circle season 7 began on September 11, 2024, but Netflix did not release the entire season at once. The reality competition used four weekly phases: episodes 1–4 on September 11, episodes 5–8 on September 18, episodes 9–12 on September 25 and the finale on October 2.

What is the last Grand Tour special?
The Grand Tour: One for the Road was presented by Prime Video as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s last Grand Tour adventure. The special is therefore best understood as a farewell road trip rather than a conventional new season.
The trio travels through Zimbabwe in three dream cars: a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre and a Triumph Stag. The combination of automotive spectacle, travel and the presenters’ familiar comedy makes this the natural selection for car culture fans who want a feature-length event with an emotional send-off. Is Uglies based on a book?
Uglies is based on Scott Westerfeld’s 2005 novel, and Netflix released the science-fiction film on September 13, 2024. The story takes place in a society with enforced beauty standards, where a teenager awaiting mandatory cosmetic surgery searches for a missing friend.

The film’s central question concerns a society that treats cosmetic transformation as an obligation rather than a personal choice. Director McG summarized the premise by saying, “Basically what happens is, you’re afforded a surgery when you turn 16 years old so you can look any way you want to look.” The statement appears in Netflix Tudum’s official Uglies trailer feature.
If you want the source material, Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies novel is the obvious companion read before or after the film. The verified source establishes the first novel as the film’s source; it does not establish that the movie adapts the entire trilogy.

The Old Man season 2 premiered on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The series was framed for U.S. viewers as a Hulu title, while Disney+ carried it in some international markets, so the correct platform depends on the viewer’s country.
The season follows former CIA agent Dan Chase and former FBI Assistant Director Harold Harper on their most important mission. Jeff Bridges’ espionage drama is the best fit for viewers who want a mature returning thriller and are comfortable with a serialized story rather than a self-contained movie. FX’s official The Old Man page provides the U.S. Hulu context, while FX’s season 2 first-look feature documents the season-2 promotion.
