Looking for a Halloween movie without adding another subscription? These five films were listed in Tubi’s U.S. free catalog at the time of research and cover a useful range of moods: family-friendly animation, dark fantasy, ’80s vampire horror, modern Halloween mythology, and intense classic horror. They are free to stream with ads on Tubi—not guaranteed to remain available indefinitely, and not necessarily available in every country.
The list moves from the least intense choice to the most intense, so you can quickly find an appropriate film for your audience.

Rating: PG | Runtime: 1 hour 27 minutes | Genres: Animation, comedy, fantasy, horror
For a lighter Halloween night, start with the animated The Addams Family (2019), a PG mix of macabre jokes, colorful animation, and family chaos. The Addams clan faces a reality-TV host while preparing for a major celebration, giving the movie a recognizable Halloween flavor without making conventional horror its main attraction.
Tubi places the film in its Kids & Family catalog, but PG does not mean every moment will suit every child. The spooky imagery and morbid humor are mild compared with the other films here, yet parents should still use their own judgment for younger viewers.
2. Labyrinth (1986)
Best for: Viewers who prefer enchanted, theatrical fantasy to outright horror.

Labyrinth is the pick for a Halloween night that feels enchanted rather than brutal: goblins, riddles, practical creatures, and a race against midnight. The story follows a teenager who must navigate a dangerous labyrinth to rescue her baby stepbrother before time runs out, with David Bowie’s Goblin King presiding over the strange world beyond the maze.
Tubi classifies the film under Kids & Family as well as Fantasy and Adventure. Its creatures, peril, and occasionally unsettling imagery may be too intense for some very young children, but it is a strong choice for families with older children, teens, or adults who want imaginative dark fantasy rather than a scare-heavy movie.
3. The Lost Boys (1987)
Best for: Adults and older teens looking for stylish ’80s vampire nostalgia.
Rating: R | Runtime: 1 hour 38 minutes
For an ’80s vampire night, The Lost Boys combines beach-town atmosphere, glam-rock swagger, and a genuinely nasty supernatural threat. After moving to a California town, a family discovers both the pleasures and dangers of vampire life, turning the film into a stylish collision of teen adventure, horror, and dark comedy.
The neon setting, rock-music energy, and cult reputation make this a particularly good nostalgic Halloween selection. However, it is not a family recommendation: Tubi lists it as R-rated, and its vampire violence and adult horror tone are aimed at mature viewers.

4. Dark Harvest (2023)
Best for: Viewers who want a newer film built directly around Halloween lore.
Rating: R | Runtime: 1 hour 34 minutes | Genres: Horror, fantasy
Recommended Free Tools
Dark Harvest is the most Halloween-native movie here: a cursed town, a deadly harvest ritual, and Sawtooth Jack turning the holiday into a survival test. Rather than simply using Halloween as seasonal decoration, the film makes the holiday’s traditions and imagery central to its premise.
That makes it a natural centerpiece for an adult Halloween watchlist, especially if you want something more recent than the ’80s selections. Tubi lists it as an R-rated horror/fantasy film, so it belongs with the mature-viewing options rather than alongside the family choices.
5. Hellraiser (1987)
Best for: Experienced horror viewers who want an intense supernatural classic.
Rank #4

- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
Rating: R | Runtime: 1 hour 34 minutes | Genres: Horror, thriller
If your Halloween watchlist needs a true horror classic, Hellraiser brings Clive Barker’s bleak mythology, Cenobites, and unforgettable supernatural body horror. Its story involves a resurrected lover, a bloody secret inside a new home, and the arrival of Pinhead and the Cenobites.
This is the list’s unapologetically intense choice. The R rating and extreme body-horror reputation make it unsuitable for children and a poor fit for anyone seeking a gentle Halloween movie. Choose it when the goal is unsettling, uncompromising classic horror rather than seasonal atmosphere alone.
How to choose the right movie

| A family-oriented animated film | The Addams Family |

What you need to stream them
You need an internet-connected device that supports Tubi, such as a compatible smart TV, game console, phone, computer, or streaming player. Tubi’s free model is ad-supported, so “free” means you do not need a subscription for these catalog listings; it does not mean an ad-free viewing experience.
If your television does not have convenient access to Tubi or other free streaming apps, an optional Roku Streaming Stick Plus can provide a simple streaming-device setup for a compatible older TV. The device itself does not make paid services free, and it is not necessary if your existing television or player already supports Tubi.
