What is “brighter days ahead”?
It is a 26-minute short film connected to Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, released in March 2025. In the film’s story, Grande plays Peaches, an elderly woman who undergoes a procedure to erase romantic memories and revisits four important memories. Christian Breslauer directed the film, and Grande’s father, Edward Butera, appears in it, according to Universal Music Japan’s September 8, 2025 recap.
What else did the film win?
Universal Music Japan reports that “brighter days ahead” received three awards at the 2025 VMAs: Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Long Form Video. ABC’s winners list and the Associated Press independently confirm Grande’s wins for Video of the Year and Best Pop Video; the three-award total is the label’s report. These are awards for the film, not a separate artist award.
