20 Most Powerful Characters in The Seven Deadly Sins, Ranked (Manga Ending)

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Spoiler warning: This ranking covers the completed The Seven Deadly Sins manga, including final transformations and the Chaos storyline. It is an editorial comparison, not an official power chart. Each place uses the strongest clearly shown version of a character or entity, weighing feats, stated abilities, durability, versatility, and the limits or temporary nature of that power.

How this ranking measures power

The order follows the 20-character comparison published by Fiction Horizon on May 30, 2025, but the ranking below explains and qualifies each placement rather than treating that list as canon. No publisher-sanctioned universal power scale exists, and estimated numbers sometimes attached to fan rankings are not official statistics.

  • Peak form: a character is judged at the strongest state actually shown, such as Ban after Purgatory or Escanor using The One Ultimate.
  • Combat evidence: demonstrated performance against major opponents matters more than a title alone.
  • More than raw strength: abilities that steal power, reflect magic, alter terrain, bypass defenses or provide unusual recovery count alongside destructive output.
  • Power ownership: borrowed, possessed or externally supplied power is identified instead of being presented as the character’s ordinary state.

For context, Kodansha’s official fan-book profiles describe Ban’s Snatch as robbing “both material things and physical ability,” King’s Chastiefol as having ten forms, and Diane as possessing the strongest superhuman strength among the Sins. Those descriptions show why matchup tools and versatility can change an order based only on muscle.

The 20 strongest characters

20. Tarmiel

Version: Tarmiel at his strongest shown as one of the Four Archangels.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Tarmiel’s command of ocean-based Goddess magic and his multiple heads give him exceptional area control, defense and endurance. He is an elite divine warrior, but the ranking places him below the other top entries because the story gives fewer decisive demonstrations of him overcoming the highest-tier demons, gods or Chaos-powered beings. His strength is substantial, yet less consistently established than the characters above him.

19. Cusack

Version: Cusack in his original demon form, including his role as a combat instructor and servant of the Demon King.

Cusack combines immense physical power with precise swordsmanship and the devastating Resonant technique. He belongs in the upper demon tier and can pressure opponents who would overwhelm ordinary fighters. His position reflects the gap between elite demon retainers and the transcendent forms, godly entities and reality-altering powers higher on this list.

18. Chandler

Version: Chandler as the original demon known as the Demon King’s chief adviser.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Chandler’s decades of combat experience, enormous magical reserves and mastery of darkness make him more dangerous than most individual demons. His true identity also explains why his techniques can compete with high-level Goddess and demon powers. He ranks just above Cusack because his magical breadth and demonstrated influence are slightly better established, although neither reaches the level of the strongest gods.

17. Elizabeth (Goddess)

Version: Elizabeth at her full Goddess power, with her memories and abilities restored.

Elizabeth’s Ark, healing, barriers and light-based attacks make her an extraordinary support and combat character. She can protect allies and neutralize threats in ways that raw strength cannot reproduce. The placement is not a judgment that she is weak; it reflects that her best evidence emphasizes healing, purification and team impact more than a sustained solo contest with the final-form entities ranked above her.

16. Estarossa / Mael

Version: Mael after the identity and commandment deception is resolved, considered with the power he can actually wield.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Mael is the original wielder of Sunshine and one of the Goddess Clan’s greatest warriors. His power rises dramatically with the sun, and his identity as Estarossa complicates comparisons because the latter state involved borrowed commandments and a false self. Counting Mael’s authentic peak but not treating every temporary external effect as permanent places him below the more complete endgame forms.

15. Ludociel

Version: Ludociel at full Archangel strength, using his extraordinary speed and Goddess magic.

Ludociel’s speed, leadership and offensive magic let him dominate most battlefield matchups before opponents can respond. He is one of the clearest examples of a character whose tactical advantage is as important as destructive force. He remains below the Indura transformations and higher beings because his strongest showings do not establish the same overwhelming durability or existential scale.

14. Derieri (Indura Form)

Version: Derieri after activating Indura, the temporary transformation that sacrifices normal restraint for immense demonic power.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Indura turns Derieri into a far more destructive close-range fighter, magnifying her strength and endurance beyond her ordinary Commandment state. The form’s temporary, self-destructive nature is part of the calculation: it raises her peak above Ludociel but does not provide a stable everyday level. She ranks ahead of ordinary Archangels on burst output while remaining below the most versatile final forms.

13. Monspeet (Indura Form)

Version: Monspeet in Indura form.

Monspeet’s Indura state adds overwhelming physical force to his already formidable hellfire and trick-based magic. His ability to disguise or redirect attacks makes him difficult to read, and the transformation supplies the destructive ceiling needed for this position. He is placed just below Derieri because her Indura showing is framed as the more formidable direct combat peak, while both suffer the same temporary-form limitation.

12. Merlin (True Power)

Version: Merlin with her true magical power and full access to Infinity.

Merlin is not ranked by explosive strength alone. Infinity lets her sustain spells, extend effects and prepare combinations that can outlast or outmaneuver stronger-looking opponents. Her knowledge of multiple magical systems and resistance to conventional counters make her one of the series’ most versatile fighters. She sits below the highest demon and god forms because her best advantage is preparation and control rather than unmatched physical durability.

11. Zeldris (with Ominous Nebula)

Version: Zeldris using Ominous Nebula at his strongest shown state.

Ominous Nebula creates a lethal gravitational field that draws targets into Zeldris’s attack range, while his demonic swordsmanship and defensive techniques cover close combat. This combination can punish groups and bypass ordinary approaches. He is ranked above Merlin in a direct, immediate fight because the field supplies pressure without lengthy setup, but below the Original Demon and the final god-level forms.

10. The Original Demon (Sinner)

Version: The Original Demon, also called the Sinner, in his composite form.

The Original Demon combines the power and abilities of Chandler and Cusack, producing a body with extraordinary strength, magic and resilience. This composite nature makes him more than a simple addition of two fighters: he can apply their complementary skills at once. His unstable existence and eventual split keep him outside the top nine, but his peak clearly exceeds either component demon considered alone.

9. King (Full-Grown Wings)

Version: King after his wings fully mature, wielding Chastiefol at maximum effectiveness.

King’s mature wings unlock his greatest fairy power, while Chastiefol can change into ten forms through Disaster magic. That arsenal covers shields, ranged attacks, restraint, healing and terrain effects, allowing King to answer many kinds of opponents. Kodansha’s profile explicitly describes the spear’s ten transformations. He ranks below Mael’s full Sunshine and Ban’s post-Purgatory peak because those characters combine comparable output with greater direct combat endurance.

8. Mael (with Sunshine)

Version: Mael wielding Sunshine at his highest stable level.

Sunshine gives Mael immense heat and power that increase with the sun, making him one of the most destructive non-deity combatants. Unlike the confused Estarossa state, this entry counts Mael’s authentic identity and command of the Grace. He stands above King because his peak offensive output and resilience are more directly demonstrated, though the dependence on time and sunlight means his performance is not uniform in every setting.

7. Ban (Sacred Treasure release, after Purgatory)

Version: Ban after surviving Purgatory and using his Sacred Treasure with Snatch.

Purgatory transforms Ban’s durability and physical conditioning, while Snatch can steal material objects and physical ability. His Sacred Treasure release lets that theft operate at a far greater scale, allowing Ban to weaken opponents while strengthening his own attacks. Kodansha’s profile confirms the broad nature of Snatch. Ban’s recovery and endurance put him above most magical specialists, but he lacks the reality-defining authority of the final six.

6. Escanor (The One Ultimate)

Version: Escanor using The One Ultimate, burning his own life as the price for surpassing his normal noon peak.

The One Ultimate is Escanor’s maximum Sunshine output: a brief state in which his body becomes a weapon of overwhelming heat and force. It can contend with the strongest demons, but it is explicitly a terminal, self-consuming transformation. The temporary cost prevents him from ranking with beings who can maintain comparable power, even though his short peak is stronger than Ban’s and most conventional fighters’.

5. Gowther (Demon)

Version: Gowther, the original demon creator, in his own full demonic form.

This Gowther is an ancient high-level demon whose mind-affecting magic operates on a scale far beyond the doll member known by the same name. His power is especially dangerous because it attacks perception, memory and consciousness rather than relying on a contest of strength. He ranks above Escanor’s brief physical peak on versatility and reach, while remaining below the supreme beings whose power is both broader and more directly destructive.

4. Supreme Deity

Version: The Supreme Deity at her full, sovereign Goddess power.

The Supreme Deity is one of the two ruling gods who shaped the series’ cosmic conflict. Her command over Goddess power, divine defenses and large-scale attacks places her beyond ordinary Archangels and demons. She occupies fourth place because the story establishes her as a foundational deity, yet the ranking gives the three characters above her an edge through their particularly overwhelming final forms or Chaos authority.

3. Demon King (possessing Britannia)

Version: The Demon King while possessing Britannia as his vessel.

Possessing Britannia gives the Demon King a vast body and a battlefield-scale platform from which to use darkness, commandments and immense demonic power. This is not the Demon King’s ordinary independent body, so the ranking labels the borrowed vessel directly. The possession state still places him above the Supreme Deity in this comparison because of its scale and sustained pressure, but it remains vulnerable to the narrative and teamwork conditions that eventually oppose it.

2. Meliodas (True Magic Form)

Version: Meliodas after awakening True Magic, beyond his earlier assault-mode and Demon King-linked states.

True Magic Form represents Meliodas’s own highest endgame power, combining his exceptional combat ability with devastating demonic magic. Kodansha’s official profile calls him the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins and says he has “an extremely high capacity for combat”; its listed Magic Power, Full Counter, reflects an opponent’s magic back at them. True Magic elevates those foundations to a level capable of challenging the Demon King. He ranks second because only Chaos-awakened Arthur has a broader final authority in this framework.

1. King Arthur (Chaos Awakened)

Version: Arthur after awakening Chaos.

Chaos-awakened Arthur takes the top position because Chaos is a primordial power capable of creating and reshaping the world, not merely increasing a fighter’s attack statistic. It gives Arthur reality-altering potential and places him outside the normal demon-versus-Goddess scale. The form’s narrative importance and breadth justify first place, while also explaining why comparisons with temporary transformations such as The One Ultimate are inherently imperfect.

Why readers can reasonably rank them differently

Any list changes when its rules change. Counting only stable, self-owned forms would lower entries that rely on possession or a life-burning transformation. Ranking one-on-one matchups would reward abilities such as Ominous Nebula, Snatch, Infinity or mind manipulation differently from a battlefield destruction list. Some readers also exclude gods, Chaos users or composite entities so that ordinary characters are compared on the same scale. Those are legitimate frameworks; they are not evidence that an official numbered chart exists.

Where to verify the forms and feats

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the strongest character in The Seven Deadly Sins?

Using the strongest forms shown by the manga’s ending, this editorial ranking places Chaos-awakened King Arthur first, followed by Meliodas in True Magic Form and the Demon King possessing Britannia.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is this an official Seven Deadly Sins power ranking?

No. The series has no publisher-issued universal numbered chart. This is a comparison based on feats, stated abilities, forms, durability, versatility and narrative context.

Why are temporary forms included?

The list compares each character’s strongest shown state, but labels costs and conditions. Escanor’s The One Ultimate, Indura transformations and a possessed vessel therefore count as peaks without being treated as permanent everyday power.
