How to choose a scene for your morning
Match the idea to the time and energy available. The official gallery groups ideas into formats including five-minute scenes, crafts and printables, recipes, classroom activities, and Scout Elves at Play. Explore the official categories.
- Almost no prep: Try the sock sleeping bag, arrival note, desk helper, or shoe train.
- Want children to join in: Use the scavenger hunt, game night, tic-tac-toe, karaoke, or good-deed prompt.
- Planning a craft or kitchen activity: Set out only safe materials for children; adults should supervise cutting and handle cooking.
- Prefer a ready-made prompt: An idea kit is optional. The official Tools and Tips Training Kit describes a 60-page inspiration book and 15 tools; the 24-Day Ultimate Elf Ideas Kit describes 24 daily idea cards and more than 70 interchangeable pieces, and its product page says the Scout Elf is not included.
