Spoilers for 1923 Season 2, Episode 6, “The Mountain Teeth of Monsters.” Sheriff McDowell brings the Duttons news they have been waiting for: Spencer is on his way home. But Jacob sees the danger behind the relief, and Whitfield turns Spencer’s expected return into a chance to strike.

“The Mountain Teeth of Monsters” is Season 2, Episode 6 of 1923. Paramount+ lists the episode as a 50-minute TV-MA release dated March 30, 2025, and offers it to subscribers. Its official synopsis reads: “Sheriff McDowell brings the Duttons good news.” The episode listing also names Brandon Sklenar, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Jerome Flynn, and Julia Schlaepfer among the featured cast. Spencer’s return puts the ranch on alert
McDowell’s news is that Spencer is expected back. The Duttons welcome the prospect, but Jacob understands that Spencer’s journey home could make him vulnerable. He gathers men and rides to the station to protect him.
Whitfield responds by ordering Banner to kill the Duttons. Spencer’s train itinerary changes amid snow delays, disrupting the effort to meet him. Jack leaves the ranch to help Jacob, but mistakes Clyde, one of Banner’s men, for an ally. Clyde kills him.

Teonna’s escape comes at a terrible cost
The episode also resolves the confrontation from the previous installment: Pete and Marshal Kent are dead. Teonna and her father, Runs His Horse, find their bodies and plan to return to their people.

Father Renaud catches up with them. He shoots Runs His Horse, then tries to kill Teonna. She fights back and kills him, surviving the attack but losing her father.
Alexandra is stranded in the cold
Alexandra’s British companions agree to drive her toward Montana. Their car runs out of fuel in freezing conditions. Both companions die, leaving Alexandra stranded beside the vehicle.

What the episode changes
The three storylines move in different directions: Jacob’s effort to protect Spencer is overtaken by Whitfield’s attack and Jack’s death; Teonna survives Renaud but loses her father; Alexandra’s attempt to reach Montana ends with her alone in the cold. Those outcomes belong to this episode; they do not, on their own, establish what happens next.
