Spoilers for season one, episode eight of The Acolyte. The finale’s clearest connections range from an on-screen Darth Plagueis reveal to visual and thematic echoes of earlier Star Wars stories. Not all 15 are officially confirmed Easter eggs: StarWars.com identifies several details, while other parallels are interpretations by entertainment writers.
Set about 100 years before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, The Acolyte unfolds in the High Republic’s final years. Its season finale premiered July 16, 2024. Lucasfilm’s series page and the official episode guide provide the timeline and episode context.

Characters, appearances and visual details
1. Darth Plagueis steps out of the shadows
The figure watching Osha and the Stranger from the cave is Darth Plagueis. StarWars.com’s finale highlights says creator Leslye Headland confirmed the identity. The reveal connects the series to the Sith who will become important in the era of The Phantom Menace; the scene alone does not establish what Plagueis knows or intends.
2. Osha bleeds Sol’s kyber crystal
After Sol’s death, Osha’s anger turns his blue lightsaber crystal red. StarWars.com identifies this as the first kyber-bleeding moment shown in live-action Star Wars, though the concept had appeared in other media. The color change marks Osha’s turn toward the dark side.

3. Yoda’s brief closing appearance
The final scene reveals Yoda, a quiet link between the High Republic story and the Jedi seen in the films. StarWars.com’s trivia gallery calls this his first appearance in a Star Wars series—not his first appearance across all franchise media.
4. Chancellor Drellik’s species
The Senate chancellor, Drellik, is a Tarsunt, the same species as Chancellor Villecham, the briefly seen leader in The Force Awakens. StarWars.com identifies the species connection in its finale trivia.
5. Mae’s helmet symbol
Mae’s helmet bears a design that ComingSoon and The HoloFiles compare to an early Jedi emblem and a precursor to the Rebel Alliance’s bird-like insignia. Treat this as a visual resemblance, not a confirmed account of the prop’s intended history.

6. Sol’s targeting display
Bazil damages Sol’s ship by tearing out the targeting-computer wiring, as the official episode coverage notes. The HoloFiles and ComingSoon point to a resemblance between the targeting interface and the system used during the Death Star trench run in A New Hope. That comparison is an interpretation, rather than an officially confirmed reference.

7. “See you in hell, Jedi!”
Mae’s line recalls Han Solo’s “Then I’ll see you in Hell!” in The Empire Strikes Back, according to The HoloFiles. StarWars.com confirms Mae’s wording; the connection to Han’s line is the secondary outlet’s proposed callback.
8. The duel’s wuxia influence
The high-flying exchange between the Stranger and Sol draws on wuxia cinema. StarWars.com specifically says some of the choreography pays homage to Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, making this one of the finale’s clearly identified stylistic nods.

9. Rayencourt predicts a Jedi will “snap”
Senator Rayencourt warns that a Jedi could “snap” under pressure. ComingSoon and The HoloFiles read the line as foreshadowing Anakin Skywalker’s fall and the later collapse of the Jedi Order. The line supports that thematic reading, but it does not name Anakin or confirm a specific future event.
10. The Stranger tempts Mae to kill Sol
When the Stranger urges Mae to strike Sol down, the scene recalls Palpatine’s efforts to turn Anakin and Luke toward violence. ComingSoon and The HoloFiles make this thematic comparison. The parallel is in the temptation and its stakes, not in identical dialogue or confirmed creator intent.

Choices that echo the saga
11. Mae throws away Sol’s lightsaber
Mae rejects the Stranger’s demand and tosses Sol’s weapon away instead of executing him. StarWars.com compares the gesture to Luke refusing violence after learning the truth about his family in Return of the Jedi. It is a parallel of choice, not an exact replay of Luke’s scene.
Rank #4
12. The twins’ creation and the Force
The coven’s account of creating Mae and Osha through a vergence in the Force invites comparison with Darth Plagueis’s later association with the pursuit of life beyond ordinary limits. ComingSoon raises the connection as a lore and thematic parallel. The finale does not establish that Plagueis created the twins, or that the Jedi know his identity.
13. The twins end up on opposite paths
The finale reverses the twins’ starting positions: Osha leaves with the Stranger, while Mae is taken into Jedi custody and her memories are wiped. The official episode guide supports those events; describing them as a simple light-side/dark-side swap is an interpretation that leaves out the coercion and uncertainty in both outcomes.
14. Osha kills Sol with a Force choke
Osha’s Force choke recalls Darth Vader using the same power in A New Hope. The HoloFiles also connects the moment to an earlier point in Osha’s own story, framing it as a full-circle echo. These are story and franchise parallels proposed by that outlet.

15. Sol receives a Jedi funeral pyre
The funeral pyre for Sol resembles the Jedi funeral shown for Qui-Gon Jinn at the end of The Phantom Menace. The HoloFiles notes the visual and ceremonial echo; the parallel links the finale to a familiar Jedi custom without requiring the scenes to be identical.

The number 15 is a useful editorial list, not an official count from Lucasfilm. StarWars.com explicitly discusses details such as Plagueis, the kyber bleeding, Yoda, Drellik’s species and the wuxia influence. The proposed links involving Han Solo, the targeting display, Anakin, Palpatine, the twins’ paths, Vader and Qui-Gon are readings published by ComingSoon or The HoloFiles. A resemblance or thematic parallel can be meaningful without proving that the creators deliberately planted it.
