Sons of Anarchy made customized Harley-Davidsons part of the show’s visual identity. Here are ten memorable bikes and model families associated with the series, selected for their screen presence and appeal—not presented as an official ranking. The evidence is strongest for Jax’s finale Knucklehead and Opie’s Dyna Super Glide Sport; other entries are broader model-family picks because a complete, authoritative production inventory is not available.
What bikes do they ride in Sons of Anarchy?
The motorcycles on screen were customized machines, not necessarily stock showroom bikes. Harley-Davidson said that a special team worked with the production team to customize more than 100 motorcycles, and that fictional club members had ridden Street Bobs since the series began. That manufacturer statement gives useful context, but it is not a scene-by-scene list of every bike or its rider: Harley-Davidson’s October 2014 statement.
The list below is an editorial selection, not a canonical top ten. Two character-and-model matches—Opie’s 2001 Dyna Super Glide Sport and Jax’s finale 1946 blue Knucklehead—were named in a 2014 studio auction announcement. Other entries are identified as model families or commonly associated visual matches, rather than verified production inventory.
10 memorable bikes and model families
1. Jax Teller’s recurring Dyna Super Glide
Jax’s familiar ride is best described as a customized Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide. Secondary accounts disagree about whether the exact trim is FXD or FXDX, so that finer identification should be treated as unresolved. It remains the series’ most instantly recognizable bike: a lean, dark cruiser that suits Jax’s day-to-day riding and the club’s stripped-back look. A 2026 identification guide distinguishes visual matches from production documentation and notes the uncertainty.

2. Jax’s 1946 blue Knucklehead
In the series finale, Jax rides a blue Harley-Davidson Knucklehead. Twentieth Century Fox’s 2014 ScreenBid announcement identified the auctioned production-used motorcycle as a “1946 Blue Harley-Davidson Knucklehead.” The year and model family are therefore well supported; further mechanical details are not needed to appreciate its contrast with Jax’s recurring Dyna. The auction was historical and does not establish that the bike is available now: the December 2014 announcement.
3. Opie Winston’s 2001 Dyna Super Glide Sport
Opie’s production-used motorcycle has one of the clearest character-to-model identifications in the series: the same ScreenBid announcement names a “2001 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport Motorcycle.” Its muscular Dyna stance makes it a natural fit for Opie’s imposing presence, while the specific year and trim come from the studio auction listing rather than a visual guess.

4. The Dyna Street Bob
The Street Bob is a strong pick for the show’s club-bike silhouette. Harley-Davidson said fictional club members rode Street Bobs from the beginning of the series, and the manufacturer’s production collaboration involved more than 100 customized motorcycles. The statement supports the Street Bob’s place in the show’s motorcycle identity, but does not specify every character, scene, or modification.
5. The customized Dyna Super Glide Sport as a rideable template
Beyond Opie’s specifically identified bike, the Super Glide Sport is an appealing real-world reference for viewers drawn to the Dyna style. Harley-Davidson’s 2020 catalog lists FXDX/I Super Glide Sport models for 1999–2005. That catalog history helps distinguish the Sport from a standard Super Glide, but it cannot establish the VIN-level identity or exact trim of Jax’s screen bike: Harley-Davidson’s 2020 model catalog.

6. The Dyna Super Glide
The broader Super Glide family captures the stripped, adaptable cruiser look that recurs throughout the series. Harley-Davidson’s catalog lists FXD/I Super Glide models for 1995–2010, separate from the FXDX/I Super Glide Sport span. If you are searching for a full-size bike with a similar starting point, use the exact family and trim names rather than assuming all “Dynas” are the same motorcycle.
7. Another Street Bob-style club bike
A second Street Bob entry represents the wider visual language of SAMCRO’s customized Harley-Davidsons, not a separately verified character-and-year pairing. Secondary guides associate Street Bob variants with club members, but those identifications are not a substitute for production records. The appeal is the model family’s compact, pared-down stance and its connection to Harley-Davidson’s own description of the show’s fictional club bikes.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
8. A touring Harley associated with club members
Secondary bike guides also connect touring-style Harleys with characters in the series. A larger touring motorcycle is the choice for a viewer who values longer-distance comfort and carrying capacity over the stripped-down look of a Dyna. Because the available identifications do not establish a single exact model, year, and character combination with primary documentation, this entry is a broad visual category rather than a definitive screen-bike claim.
9. A Sportster prospect bike
Some secondary guides identify a Sportster as a prospect’s ride. That association is less firmly documented than the named auction motorcycles, so treat it as a commonly reported visual match rather than a confirmed production record. As a model family, the Sportster offers a smaller, more compact alternative to the Dyna and touring silhouettes that dominate the show’s biker imagery.

10. A licensed 1:18 die-cast Sons of Anarchy motorcycle
Not every fan needs a full-size motorcycle. Maisto’s 2014 catalog lists a licensed 1:18 Sons of Anarchy die-cast motorcycle line, including character-associated Harley-Davidson models. It is a display collectible, not a screen-used machine, and the historical catalog does not establish current retail stock or which variants are available today: Maisto’s 2014 catalog.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the difference between a Dyna Super Glide and a Super Glide Sport?
They are distinct model names in Harley-Davidson’s catalog, not interchangeable labels. The 2020 catalog lists FXD/I Super Glide models across 1995–2010, while FXDX/I Super Glide Sport models span 1999–2005. Those catalog ranges describe the model families; they do not resolve the exact trim of a motorcycle seen on screen. In particular, Jax’s recurring bike is safely identified as a Dyna Super Glide, while sources conflict over FXD versus FXDX.
Can you buy a Sons of Anarchy motorcycle?
You can look for a used Dyna Super Glide or Super Glide Sport as a real-world starting point, but an ordinary production model will not automatically match the show’s customized screen bikes. Before choosing one, consider the specific model year and condition, intended use, ergonomics, and any modifications already made. The historical ScreenBid announcement identifies particular auction items in 2014; it does not establish current ownership or availability.
For a display-sized option, the Maisto catalog confirms a licensed 1:18 line existed in 2014. Its present availability and variants are not established by that catalog, so check current listings rather than assuming a specific model can still be bought.
