Here is Luxatic’s 2022 ranking, presented as reported prices—not a confirmed ledger of Gucci sales.
Why “ever sold” needs a qualification
There is no verified, comprehensive record behind a definitive ranking of the ten most expensive Gucci items ever sold. Luxatic’s list, updated March 22, 2022, and Wealthy Gorilla’s list, published April 8, 2023, overlap but differ in entries and figures. Neither provides transaction records for all ten items. The belt behind the headline figure
The belt is described as a custom commission associated with designer Stuart Hughes and Goldstriker International, rather than a regular off-the-shelf Gucci belt. Worthly reported in 2014 that it was made for an anonymous client and had a platinum buckle set with 30 carats of diamonds; Worthly said it sold for $249,000. Financial Express had reported a $249,000 commission in 2013. These are secondary reports, not a maker’s record or transaction document. Worthly and Financial Express.
Later listicles commonly round the figure to $250,000. Luxatic gives that amount, as does Wealthy Gorilla; the earlier reports say $249,000. The $1,000 difference is not resolved by the available accounts, and the exact final paid price has not been independently confirmed. A standard Gucci leather belt is a different product category from this bespoke, diamond-and-platinum-buckle piece.

Why another ranking gives a different number ten
Wealthy Gorilla’s April 8, 2023 list includes a woven leather boot at number ten and cites $3,750, rather than Luxatic’s Princetown loafer at $2,600. The lists also describe overlapping entries with some differences in detail and price. That variation is another reason not to combine them into a single definitive sales ranking. Wealthy Gorilla.
