Davidson College’s archived biography gives Curry’s full name as Wardell Stephen Curry II and says he was born in Akron, Ohio, on March 14, 1988.

Curry played three seasons at Davidson, averaging 25.3 points per game over 104 appearances, according to his NBA.com biography. In 2008, he helped the Wildcats reach the NCAA tournament’s Elite Eight, a breakthrough that brought national attention to the college and its star guard.
