As of 8 October 2026, the No. 1 song on Apple Music’s global chart is “Solar Eclipse” by Drake and Don Toliver. Apple’s Top 100: Global playlist ranks the most-played songs around the world and is refreshed every day, so the leader can change from one day to the next.
Which chart “number one” refers to
“Number one on Apple Music” is not a single ranking. Apple publishes separate charts for the whole world, for individual countries and for individual cities, and each can have a different leader. The global chart is the default meaning of the question, because it is the one Apple presents as its headline list. The table below shows what was confirmed on the check date.

|---|---|---|
| Top 100: Global | “Solar Eclipse” by Drake and Don Toliver | Apple Music playlist description, checked on the date above |
| US Top Songs | “Solar Eclipse” by Drake and Don Toliver | Apple Music US chart listing, checked on the same date |

The same song tops both the global and US charts on this date, but those are two separate listings. If you are writing about a specific country, check that country’s own Top 100 rather than assuming the global result applies.
How to check the current leader yourself
- Open Apple’s Top 100: Global playlist in a web browser or in the Apple Music app.
- Read the first track in the list. That is the current No. 1 on the global chart.
- To check a specific market, switch to that country’s chart in Apple Music’s storefront or chart options and repeat the step.
- Note the date and time of your check, because the list is updated daily and the order can change within a few days.
What the chart actually measures
Apple describes Top 100: Global as “the most-played songs around the world.” That wording is the only description of the method that was verified. Apple has not published, in the sources reviewed here, a formula, a measurement window or the hour the daily update takes place. A chart position therefore shows that a song is ranked first on Apple’s list; it does not explain why, and it is not a sales figure, a stream count or a measure of cultural impact.

Why the answer may already be out of date
Chart leaders on streaming platforms often turn over quickly, especially when a new single or album is released. Because Apple refreshes its charts every day, any article or social post quoting a No. 1 song should carry a date. If you are reading this after 8 October 2026, treat the answer above as a starting point and confirm it on the live Top 100: Global page.
