ANA’s retirement timeline ended with the C-3PO ANA Jet on January 9, 2026; the airline’s Star Wars project formally concluded on March 31, 2026. The planes’ old routes are historical, not current themed-flight options.
Are any ANA Star Wars planes still flying?
No. ANA’s official retirement chronology says the BB-8 ANA Jet retired on March 31, 2022, the R2-D2 ANA Jet on August 7, 2025, and the C-3PO ANA Jet on January 9, 2026. ANA’s account of the project’s conclusion is summarized by Flightradar24, which reports that the project formally ended on March 31, 2026.
That means there is no current ANA route or flight number you can book specifically to travel on one of these liveries. A regular ANA flight between cities once served by a themed aircraft does not mean the aircraft is still assigned to that route.
What was the last C-3PO ANA Jet flight?
According to Flightradar24, the C-3PO Jet’s final scheduled commercial flight was NH270 from Fukuoka (FUK) to Tokyo Haneda (HND) on January 9, 2026. It was scheduled to depart at 19:55 Japan time and arrive at 21:30. Those details describe its final service, not a flight that can be booked today.

Which aircraft carried the Star Wars liveries?
ANA used several aircraft and designs during the project. Their roles and retirement history help explain why old route references should not be treated as present-day availability.
| Livery or design | Aircraft | Service context | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| R2-D2 ANA Jet | Boeing 787-9 | International service; ANA’s original announcement planned Tokyo–Vancouver as its first international route, followed by other destinations. | Retired August 7, 2025. |
| BB-8 ANA Jet | Boeing 777-300ER | ANA’s Star Wars fleet included this dedicated livery. | Retired March 31, 2022. |
| R2-D2 and BB-8 design | Boeing 767 | Carried a combined design. | Repainted in standard ANA colors; the available sources do not state a retirement date for the livery. |
| C-3PO ANA Jet | Boeing 777-200 | Domestic Japanese routes. | Retired January 9, 2026. |
Aircraft and service details are drawn from ANA’s original announcements and the fleet history reported by Flightradar24. ANA’s 2015 R2-D2 announcement describes the planned launch service, while its 2017 C-3PO announcement says the aircraft would operate various domestic routes. Neither announcement is a current schedule.

Why an ANA route map can’t confirm a Star Wars flight
ANA’s route-information page lists the airline’s routes and schedules, not which special livery is assigned to a particular flight. The page, marked current as of August 20, 2026, also warns that schedules and aircraft can change. So even a valid current ANA city pair cannot establish that a Star Wars-painted aircraft will operate it.
The retired aircraft’s present locations and condition, and whether any will be preserved or displayed publicly, are not established by the available sources. Their retirement dates should not be taken as evidence that the airframes were scrapped or moved to a museum.
