It confirms the actors’ series-level roles, but does not establish a complete Season 2 guest or recurring cast list. Here’s who the principal actors play—and where the season-specific record needs a careful distinction.
Who is in the principal cast of Will Trent?
ABC’s series description pairs these six actors with the show’s central characters. These are verified series-level credits, not a claim that the list covers every actor who appeared in Season 2.
| Actor | Character | What ABC identifies |
|---|---|---|
| Ramón Rodríguez | Will Trent | Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) |
| Erika Christensen | Angie Polaski | Detective; Will’s close friend and on-again, off-again lover |
| Iantha Richardson | Faith Mitchell | Character named in the series description |
| Jake McLaughlin | Michael Ormewood | Character named in the series description |
| Kevin Daniels | Franklin Wilks / Benjamin Franklin | ABC’s series description uses “Franklin Wilks”; Daniels’s actor page lists “Benjamin Franklin” and describes him as a police detective |
| Sonja Sohn | Amanda Wagner | Character named in the series description |
ABC’s series description gives full character names for the principal cast. Its current show page shortens some listings to first names, including Faith, Michael and Amanda; that current page is not a historical Season 2 roster.
Who does Ramón Rodríguez play?
Rodríguez plays Will Trent, a special agent in the GBI. ABC describes Will as someone whose distinct point of view informs his pursuit of justice. Abandoned at birth, he endured a difficult childhood in Atlanta’s foster care system; the series frames his determination to prevent others from being abandoned as a central motivation.

Who plays Angie Polaski, and what is her connection to Will?
Erika Christensen plays Detective Angie Polaski. ABC’s actor page describes Angie as Will’s close friend and on-again, off-again lover. That relationship is part of the characters’ personal history, alongside the show’s investigative cases.
What should viewers know about Franklin’s name?
ABC uses two different character forms in its official material: the series description calls Kevin Daniels’s character Franklin Wilks, while Daniels’s actor page calls him Benjamin Franklin and identifies him as a police detective. Since those sources do not resolve the difference, it is best to attribute the wording rather than present one version as definitive.
Is this a complete Season 2 cast list?
No. The available ABC material supports the principal cast at the series level, but it does not confirm a complete Season 2 roster of guest and recurring performers, episode appearances or season-specific character introductions. The current ABC show page includes later-season material, so its cast listings alone cannot prove that every listed performer appeared in Season 2.

ABC says the television series is based on Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent book series. The show follows the GBI agent as he applies his perspective and experience to investigations. The books are the source material; the TV cast names above refer to the adaptation.
