Her December 2025 remark that the show was “done” came amid a production pause and concern about losing the show’s financial support; she later said her perspective was “more from a paycheck standpoint.” In September 2026, Colby and Mike Wolfe were reported to have announced that they were making new episodes together.
Why did viewers think Danielle Colby had left?
On December 3–4, 2025, Colby said in a birthday video, “And I just found out that American Pickers is done.” She was also discussing plans to focus on the Ecdysiast Arts Museum, a burlesque-history museum in Davenport, Iowa, and the financial uncertainty of losing the show’s support. Parade reported that context on December 4, 2025: Parade’s December 2025 report.
The comment could sound like an announcement that Colby was quitting, but it did not say that she had chosen to leave. At the time, HISTORY’s representative told Parade that the show was still airing premieres into 2026 and that no new episodes were then being produced, while allowing that production could resume early the following year. That was a statement about production, not confirmation that Colby had departed.
What did Colby clarify about the show being “done”?
In a later video, Colby said Mike Wolfe had called to remind her, “we’re never over.” She explained, “My perspective was more from a paycheck standpoint.” Wolfe also said the series remained in the landscape for new shows. Parade reported those comments on September 16, 2026: Parade’s September 2026 report.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That clarification points to financial uncertainty during a pause in production—not a stated personal decision to quit. The sources do not establish that Colby was fired, had a conflict with Wolfe, or left for health reasons.
Is Danielle Colby coming back to American Pickers?
On September 16, 2026, Parade reported that Colby and Wolfe had posted about making new episodes together. Colby’s post said, “Now we get to do it all again,” while Wolfe described being back with his crew and family and “making new episodes” of American Pickers together. The report said HISTORY had not immediately responded to a question about the next season.

What is Colby doing beyond the show?
The museum was part of Colby’s plans during the 2025 production pause. Her work beyond television also includes burlesque performance, entrepreneurship, and collecting, as described on her official website. Those projects provide context for her comments about financial transition, but the available reporting does not identify them as a reason she left the show.

The reports do not give an official season number or premiere schedule, so the production announcement should not be mistaken for a confirmed release date.
