WALL-E’s robot friend is EVE, the sleek search robot he meets on Earth in Pixar’s 2008 film WALL-E. Pixar’s official film page says WALL-E “discovers a new purpose in life” when he meets her.
Who is EVE?
EVE stands for Extra-Terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator. She is a state-of-the-art probe-droid, one of a fleet sent to Earth on a scanning mission. When she learns that WALL-E has found the key to Earth’s future, she returns to report to the humans aboard the Axiom. Pixar’s official film page describes her as a “sleek search robot.”
Why does WALL-E meet her?
WALL-E is the last robot left on Earth, programmed to clean up the planet one trash cube at a time. In the story, he has worked for 700 years and developed a personality. EVE’s arrival changes his routine and gives him a new purpose. Those details describe the film’s fictional setting, not real-world robots.
Is EVE the same as M-O or Auto?
No. They are other robots in the film, but they have different roles:
