John Cena’s controversial win over Cody Rhodes tops this ranking of WrestleMania 41 Sunday, with IYO SKY’s title defense and the Intercontinental Championship four-way close behind. The April 20, 2025 card at Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas area had seven matches. This is an editorial ranking based on championship stakes, documented match structure, key spots, finishes and story payoff—not an official or consensus rating. WWE’s results recap supports the events and outcomes described, but it is a promotional recap, not an independent assessment of each match’s full quality.
WrestleMania 41 Sunday match results, ranked worst to best
7. Randy Orton def. Joe Hendry
Kevin Owens was unable to compete because of injury, and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry answered Orton’s open challenge. The substitution was the match’s defining hook. WWE’s recap documents a compact finish: Hendry went for a chokeslam, Orton poked him in the eye and hit an RKO, then helped him up and delivered a second RKO for the win.
The finish gives the match a memorable, deliberately abrupt edge, but the official account offers less documented in-ring progression than the other bouts on this list. On the available record, the surprise appearance and closing angle do more of the work than a detailed match narrative.
6. Logan Paul def. AJ Styles
The recap describes reversals and mirrored tactics: Paul used a drone, copied Styles’s ring-apron approach and hit a moonsault. Styles landed a Styles Clash, then refused brass knuckles offered by Karrion Kross. Paul won with the One Lucky Punch and Paulverizer.

- WWE: WrestleMania Backlash 2022
Styles’s refusal gives the bout a clear character beat, while Paul’s borrowed tactic creates a neat bit of rivalry-specific storytelling. The ending’s reliance on Kross and the brass knuckles may divide viewers: it adds interference to the finish, but makes the result less satisfying if a clean decisive victory is the priority.
5. Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch def. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez — WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Becky Lynch’s return was the central story, and it led directly to a title change. Morgan and Rodriguez isolated Valkyria before Lynch trapped Morgan in the Dis-arm-her. Rodriguez broke up the hold, but Lynch followed with the Man-handle Slam to secure the win and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for herself and Valkyria.

The return gives the match a strong surprise and the title victory a clear payoff. WWE’s recap lays out a straightforward closing sequence rather than a more elaborate structure, so this ranking gives the story and result more weight than complexity.
4. Drew McIntyre def. Damian Priest — Sin City Street Fight
Ring steps, tables and steel chairs made the surroundings part of the match. Priest put McIntyre through the announce table with a Razor’s Edge. Later, McIntyre pushed Priest off the ropes and through two tables at ringside before winning.

Rank #3
- Factory sealed DVD
The escalation from weapons to multiple table impacts gives this bout a strong case as the card’s most overtly physical spectacle. Its placement reflects the scale of the documented spots; the recap alone does not establish finer judgments about pacing or execution.
3. Dominik Mysterio def. Bron Breakker, Penta and Finn Bálor — Intercontinental Championship
The four-way’s standout documented spectacle was Breakker spearing through an announce table after Carlito stopped Penta’s pin attempt. The closing stretch also drew on Judgment Day’s unstable alliances: Mysterio struck Bálor, Bálor stopped him, then hit Coup de Grace on Breakker. Mysterio frog-splashed both men and pinned Bálor to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Rank #4
That sequence layers outside interference, faction tension and a consequential title change into the finish. Mysterio’s win over an ally makes the ending more than a simple opportunistic pin, while the announce-table spear supplies the match’s clearest major visual.
2. IYO SKY def. Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley — Women’s World Championship
This triple threat has one of the strongest documented sequences of counters and near-falls. Belair hit a 450 splash; Ripley followed with a Riptide; SKY countered an Avalanche Riptide; and Belair landed a K.O.D. Ripley’s pin was interrupted before SKY hit Over the Moonsault to break up Ripley’s cover and pinned Belair to retain the Women’s World Championship.

The layered finish suits a three-way title match: each challenger gets a meaningful moment, and SKY wins by finding an opening amid the others’ exchanges. The reported sequence makes this one of Sunday’s most compelling championship bouts on structure and stakes.
1. John Cena def. Cody Rhodes — Undisputed WWE Championship
The main event carries the biggest consequence in this ranking: Cena defeated Rhodes to win his 17th world title. WWE’s recap recounts four Attitude Adjustments, then a Cross Rhodes that left the referee out of action. Travis Scott distracted Rhodes and pulled the referee out; Rhodes hit Scott with a Cross Rhodes before he and Cena struggled over the championship. Cena won after a low blow and a strike with the title while the referee was down.
The compromised finish is also the match’s central point of disagreement. For narrative shock and the significance of the title change, it ranks first here; for viewers who value a clean, decisive ending, the low blow and championship-assisted strike may make it a less satisfying match than SKY’s defense. The ranking favors consequence and the documented story turn without treating the finish as universally successful.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the ranking weighs
- Stakes: championship changes and defenses, plus the significance of the main-event result.
- Structure: the documented progression, counters, interference and interplay among competitors.
- Memorable moments: the major spots and story beats recorded in WWE’s recap.
- Finish: how well the ending pays off the match, while recognizing that a controversial result can be compelling and divisive at the same time.
These criteria explain the order, but they do not turn it into an objective score. WWE’s April 20 results recap is useful for checking the winners, moves and finishes; it is not enough on its own to claim firsthand impressions of pace, crowd response or execution.
