Reigns wrote, “Not sure who looked more tired — the crowd or the champion. Enjoy this final month of relevancy.” Punk answered on the event’s post-show panel, saying Reigns had time to tweet but not to come to Chicago.

Reigns’ post was dated March 1, the day after Punk’s title defense. It read: “Not sure who looked more tired — the crowd or the champion. Enjoy this final month of relevancy.” On3 reproduced the post, as did Fightful’s same-night report.
How CM Punk responded
During the Elimination Chamber post-show panel, Punk criticized Reigns for posting online instead of appearing in Chicago: “He’s got time to tweet, but he doesn’t have time to come to Chicago.” Punk also said the physical toll of wrestling was expected: “I’m gonna be beat up and I’m gonna be bandaged, but that keeps me sharp and on the edge where I need to be.” On3 reported and quoted Punk’s remarks.
Why the exchange mattered
The jab and response landed in the context of a planned WrestleMania 42 title rivalry. WWE’s preview identified Reigns as the 2026 Royal Rumble winner and said he had declared he would challenge Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. The same preview announced Punk’s February 28 defense against Bálor. WWE’s event page listed the match and its original broadcast schedule.

What happened in Punk’s match
Punk defeated Finn Bálor with the G.T.S. and retained the championship at the February 28 event in Chicago, according to Fightful’s report. That match date is separate from Reigns’ March 1 post.
