Drew McIntyre’s movie role alongside Dave Bautista was in The Killer’s Game, a 2024 action-comedy directed by JJ Perry. Bautista recommended McIntyre after Perry described needing a physically imposing Scottish performer for a character who could credibly fight Bautista’s character.
What movie did Drew McIntyre make with Dave Bautista?
McIntyre appeared in The Killer’s Game, which was scheduled for theatrical release on September 13, 2024, according to Wrestling Inc.’s September 2024 report. The film was McIntyre’s feature-film debut, the same report said.

How did McIntyre get cast?
McIntyre said JJ Perry was looking for a physically imposing Scottish performer to play one of two Scottish brothers, someone who could seem capable of fighting Bautista’s character. Bautista called McIntyre and pitched the part. McIntyre recalled Bautista saying, “I know that guy he exists. He’s called Drew McIntyre, let me call him right now.”
Bautista described the recommendation from his perspective in a separate interview report by Cageside Seats: after Perry asked if he knew a large performer who could deliver a Scottish accent, Bautista said, “Man, I got the perfect guy.” He immediately thought of McIntyre, then approached him about the project.

Who does McIntyre play?
McIntyre described the role as one of the Scottish Mackenzie brothers, but the interview excerpts do not give the character’s final on-screen name. It is therefore safer to identify the role by that description rather than assign him a character name that the available reporting does not establish.
McIntyre called seeing himself on the film’s poster surreal: “And now I’m sitting talking about my first movie, looking at myself on the front of the poster. It’s pretty surreal.”

Is this the same project as Highlander?
No. McIntyre’s The Killer’s Game role is separate from his later reported casting in the Highlander reboot. A 2025 GamesRadar report said McIntyre would play Angus MacLeod, Connor’s brother, in Highlander, where Bautista was also among the cast.
That GamesRadar report said production had paused after Henry Cavill was injured while training, with a restart expected in early 2026; it also said the film had no release date at the time. Those are details reported in 2025, not confirmation of the reboot’s current production status or release schedule.
