One-Punch Man Season 3 has not gone quiet: its second cour is scheduled for 2027. The official anime site and Shueisha have confirmed the year, but neither has announced a month or day. The wait and lack of a precise date may frustrate viewers, but they are not evidence that the continuation is in trouble.
When does One-Punch Man Season 3 Part 2 come out?
The second cour of Season 3 is planned to begin broadcasting in 2027. The official anime site’s September 25, 2026 announcement ties a first-cour rebroadcast to preparation for the 2027 continuation. Shueisha had also announced the 2027 window on January 7, 2026 (publisher announcement). Neither notice gives a confirmed premiere month or day.
VIZ’s title page likewise lists Season 3 Part 2 as coming in 2027 for its listed territories—North America, Latin America, and Oceania—but that listing does not establish which platform will carry it or when it will be available in a particular country (VIZ Media).
Why does it seem like there have been no updates?
The first cour already aired. The anime’s October 3, 2025 notice said Season 3 would start on October 5 on TV Tokyo and other networks, and identified October 12 as the broadcast of episode 25, the season’s first episode (official start announcement). Its opening date can make the season’s two-part schedule easy to miss: Part 2 is a continuation, not a still-unannounced first premiere.

The official site is still posting franchise news. On September 25, 2026, it announced a rebroadcast of the first cour beginning October 12, 2026, explicitly in preparation for the second cour. The site wrote, “Please watch in preparation for the broadcast of Season 3’s second cour in 2027!”—a translation of its Japanese announcement (official rebroadcast notice).
Is the long wait a bad sign?
It is understandable to read the gap and absence of a precise return date as frustrating. But the available official scheduling notices confirm a 2027 broadcast window; they do not explain the split-cour timing or describe production problems. That means the schedule alone cannot establish that the anime is delayed, at risk, or cancelled. No exact date has been announced in the cited updates, so a more specific claim would go beyond what they confirm.

The long interval before Season 3 began may add to that uncertainty. In its 2025 announcement, the official anime site described the time since Season 2 as “about six and a half years.” That is the site’s characterization of the interval, not a measure of production duration or evidence about the health of Season 3’s production (official 2025 notice).

If you want more of the story before the broadcast, the original manga is a natural option. Shueisha identifies the anime’s source as the manga by ONE and Yusuke Murata. Readers can start with One-Punch Man manga volume 1; it is a way to continue with the source material, not a substitute for a confirmed anime release date.
