Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik was the first celebrity announced for Dancing With the Stars season 33. ABC later revealed the full cast and professional pairings on September 4, 2024. The “amid concerns” wording in the original headline is not supported by the cited cast-announcement coverage, so it should not be read as evidence of a specific concern.

What the “amid concerns” wording does—and does not—establish
The available ABC cast-announcement coverage does not identify a concern connected to Nedoroscik, another contestant, or the production. It therefore does not support claims about a health issue, eligibility, reputation, or a competition problem. ABC later published a cast-reveal video on September 7, 2024, that included Dwight Howard; that later item is not evidence that Howard was the first contestant announced: ABC News cast-reveal video.
