DC Studios’ new Wonder Woman feature is in development and was reported in October 2026 as being written. The cited sources do not confirm a replacement for Gal Gadot or announce a release date.
Who is replacing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman?
No replacement actress is confirmed in the sources cited here. A GamesRadar roundup published October 5, 2026 reports that casting is still some way off. Names circulating online should therefore be treated as speculation unless DC Studios announces a casting decision.
Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984. Those official DC pages document her previous films; they do not establish who will play the character in the new DCU feature.
A Variety Australia report from September 2026 recounts Gadot’s comments about earlier discussions of a third Wonder Woman film and her expectation that she likely would not return in the new DC Studios era. That is her account and expectation, not an announcement naming a successor.

When does the new DCU Wonder Woman movie come out?
No release date is provided in the cited updates. Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2025 shareholder letter referred to “the next Wonder Woman” among projects James Gunn was preparing, but the cited passage did not give a date. GamesRadar’s October 2026 roundup lists the release date as to be confirmed.
Accordingly, dates presented elsewhere as official should not be relied on without a direct DC Studios announcement. The sources cited here also do not establish a production start date.

What is known about the film’s development?
The shareholder-letter reference establishes that Warner Bros. Discovery was presenting a forthcoming Wonder Woman project as part of its DC slate. GamesRadar later reported that Gunn said the movie was being written. Because that wording comes through a secondary roundup rather than a direct interview or studio announcement, it is best understood as a reported development update, not a detailed production confirmation.
The cited sources do not identify a director or describe the film’s plot. They also do not establish when casting will begin or who has been approached.

Is Paradise Lost the new Wonder Woman movie?
No. DC Studios’ January 2023 slate announcement listed Paradise Lost, a drama set on Themyscira focused on the Amazons. It is a separate series, not the new Wonder Woman feature, and its schedule should not be treated as the movie’s release schedule.
