Is Daryl Dixon Season 4 confirmed?
Yes. AMC announced the renewal on July 25, 2025, and its September 8, 2026 first look again described Season 4 as the series’ final season. AMC’s first-look announcement confirms the season is moving ahead; the earlier renewal announcement specified its eight-episode order.

When will Season 4 premiere?
AMC says Season 4 is coming in 2027. The cited official announcements do not give a month or day, so a more exact premiere date—and a weekly release schedule—has not been established.
How many episodes will it have?

Where is the story set, and where was it filmed?
The season is set in Spain. AMC’s first-look synopsis says Daryl and Carol cross the country’s “ravaged badlands,” holding onto hope and each other as uncertainty about their future grows.
AMC said filming would take place in and around Madrid, with locations including Bilbao, Galicia, Andalucía, the Segovia region, Toledo, and the Community of Madrid. Its 2025 production announcement named those areas. In September 2025, Melissa McBride said filming was underway; that was a contemporaneous update, not confirmation of when production finished.

Who is returning, and who is joining the cast?
Norman Reedus returns as Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier. Jimmy Smits joins the cast as Captain Alejandro Perkins, whom AMC describes as a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor.
AMC also lists Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués. The first-look announcement does not identify the characters played by those performers or specify their episode appearances.
Where can you watch Season 4?
AMC says the season is coming to AMC and AMC+. Its Spanish-market announcement describes the season as exclusive to AMC+ in Spain. That Spain-specific statement does not establish the same exclusivity or availability in other countries; check local listings as the premiere approaches. AMC’s general viewing announcement is available on its official series page.
What has AMC said about the final season?
When AMC announced the renewal on July 25, 2025, Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said: “We can’t wait to share the upcoming third season of Daryl this fall and to begin production on this fourth and final season in Spain.” The comment described plans at the time of the announcement.
