Yes—Prime Video has ordered a series adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing. The official premise follows 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail as she enters Basgiath War College and competes to become a dragon rider. Amazon’s series article does not list a cast or release date.
Is Fourth Wing getting a TV show?
Yes. Prime Video announced a series order at Amazon MGM Studios’ 2026 Upfront presentation. That is a later milestone than the project’s development announcement in October 2023: development news did not itself mean the series had been ordered.

#1 Best Overall
Fourth Wing is the first book in Yarros’s Empyrean series. The announcement describes an adaptation of the novels, but it does not detail any changes to the story for television. The official synopsis is the best guide to what has been confirmed about the show’s premise.

These are the names and roles in Amazon’s series announcement. A production credit is not a casting announcement; the listed team does not establish who will appear on screen.
Is there a release date or cast list?
Amazon’s official series article gives no premiere date and names no cast members. It says the article will be updated as cast, crew and release-timeline details become available. Until an official announcement supplies those details, fan casting and predicted release years remain unconfirmed.
