In a February 2024 interview, The Sopranos actor Drea de Matteo said joining OnlyFans helped her through a serious financial crisis. “OnlyFans saved my life, 100 percent,” she said, according to contemporaneous reports. Her account describes one person’s experience; it does not establish what creators typically earn.
What did Drea de Matteo say?
De Matteo, best known for playing Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, made the comments in a Daily Mail interview reported as appearing on February 27, 2024. The Independent, Us Weekly and E! News subsequently covered her account. The outlets quoted her describing OnlyFans as having “saved my life, 100 percent.” The Independent and E! News reported the remark.
The phrase was de Matteo’s description of what the platform meant to her during a difficult period. It should be understood as personal testimony, not a verified financial finding or a claim that OnlyFans will produce similar results for others.
Why did she join OnlyFans?
In the interview account, de Matteo said she was facing foreclosure pressure while dealing with a flooded home and costs associated with caring for family members. She described having very little money when she decided to join, despite initial reservations about the platform. These details come from her reported interview; the outlets did not independently verify her finances or the circumstances surrounding her home.

What did she say happened after she joined?
According to the reporting, de Matteo said she received $10 within minutes of launching her account and used the money to pay a real-estate company in connection with keeping the sale of her home. She reportedly said the payment came within five minutes. Those numbers are her interview-attributed recollections, not audited transaction records or platform-wide statistics. Us Weekly covered the anecdote.
She also said the income later gave her enough money to start ULTRAFREE, a streetwear label. That, too, is a claim from the interview as reported by outlets, not an independently assessed account of the business’s finances or current availability.
