Timothée Chalamet’s Harry Potter-themed outfit was a forest-green Slytherin cardigan he wore during Dune promotional interviews in October 2021. He said it came from the Harry Potter museum in London; the moment drew enthusiastic reactions as well as debate over whether he belonged in Slytherin.
What did Timothée Chalamet wear?
Entertainment coverage described the garment as a fitted, forest-green zip cardigan bearing the Slytherin emblem. It was a themed sweater, not a full costume or a new Harry Potter collaboration. Bustle’s description used the terms “Slytherin sweater” and cardigan.
Where did the sweater come from?
In an interview with Zendaya, Chalamet identified it as “a Slytherin sweater from the Harry Potter museum in London.” Zendaya said she had bought a Gryffindor version there. That establishes what the two actors said about their sweaters, but the coverage does not independently verify the museum’s inventory or identify a brand or model. Antena 3 reported the exchange.
Why was he wearing it?
Chalamet wore the sweater while promoting Dune with co-star Zendaya. The Harry Potter reference fit a conversation about the audience connection to big fantasy stories: Us Weekly quoted Chalamet comparing Dune with the way his generation grew up with Harry Potter, saying, “I compare it to how our generation grew up with Harry Potter, and that one makes sense to me.” The comment describes a generational connection; by itself, it does not establish that he was a Harry Potter superfan. Us Weekly covered the remark and outfit on October 20, 2021.

How did fans and Tom Felton react?
Reports from October 2021 selected examples of fans praising the Harry Potter nod and comparing Chalamet to Slytherin characters such as Regulus Black or Draco Malfoy. Other reactions questioned whether he suited the house. These were anecdotes highlighted by entertainment outlets, not a representative poll or evidence that fans agreed as a whole. Hollywood Life and Bustle reported examples of the response.
Antena 3 also reported that Tom Felton shared the interview clip with the Spanish comment “El reclutamiento va bien” (“The recruitment is going well”) and a Slytherin snake emoji. His line played along with the house-themed joke; it was not confirmation of any official Harry Potter project.

What is known about the exact sweater today?
The cited coverage does not name the sweater’s brand or model, or establish whether the same item is still sold. Chalamet’s statement is the basis for the reported museum origin. Anyone looking for the look can search for a green Slytherin cardigan or sweater, but a similar listing should not be mistaken for the exact garment he wore.
