MrBeast was the highest-earning YouTube creator in Forbes’ 2023 Top Creators coverage: Forbes estimated his gross earnings at $82 million for June 2022 through June 2023. That is an estimate of earnings over a defined 12-month period—not a measure of his net worth. Forbes’ list also ranks creators using factors beyond earnings, so its numbered positions are not a simple richest-to-poorest table.
How much did the top YouTubers earn?
Forbes’ 2023 Top Creators list estimated gross earnings from June 2022 through June 2023. The figures below are Forbes estimates for that period, not audited accounts or personal-wealth valuations. They identify creators associated with YouTube; they do not establish that all of each creator’s income came from YouTube.
| Creator | Forbes’ 2023 list position | Estimated gross earnings, June 2022–June 2023 |
|---|---|---|
| MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) | No. 1 | $82 million |
| Rhett & Link | Not stated as an earnings rank | $35 million |
| Preston Arsement | Not stated as an earnings rank | $35 million |
| Jake Paul | Not stated as an earnings rank | $34 million |
| Markiplier | Not stated as an earnings rank | $30 million |
| Jacksepticeye | Not stated as an earnings rank | $27 million |
| KSI | No. 2 | $24 million |
Forbes’ published positions should not be read as a strict earnings order. KSI, for example, appears at No. 2 with an estimated $24 million, while the list includes creators with higher estimates. The comparison is useful for the reported amounts, but the rank column reflects a broader assessment.
What “richest” means in this comparison
Earnings are not net worth
Forbes says it estimated each creator’s gross earnings between June 2022 and June 2023. Gross earnings over a period do not tell readers how much a person owns after expenses, taxes, investments, or liabilities. The list does not provide a comparable net-worth estimate for these creators.

The 2023 edition covers a June-to-June period
“2023” refers to the list edition, not earnings across the calendar year 2023. Its stated measurement window runs from June 2022 through June 2023, so the figures should be treated as historical estimates for that period.
List position is a composite ranking
Forbes’ methodology combined estimated earnings with follower counts, engagement rates, and an entrepreneurship score. Influential supplied follower counts across social platforms and engagement rates, defined as likes, comments, and shares divided by total followers. Forbes assigned entrepreneurship scores from one to four, ranging from creators relying mainly on traditional advertising to those building companies, brands, and services. This is why a creator’s list position cannot be used as a substitute for comparing the earnings estimates themselves. Forbes’ 2023 Top Creators list and methodology describes the approach.

Where creator earnings can come from
The Forbes coverage points to businesses and products alongside creator platforms. It mentions MrBeast’s Feastables snack bars, MrBeast Burgers, and merchandise; Mythical merchandise from Rhett & Link, including kitchen tools and toiletries; Markiplier’s Cloak clothing brand; and a graphic novel released by Preston Arsement. These examples show why creator earnings may involve more than platform advertising, but Forbes does not break out how much any named venture contributed to the estimates.

For the question “Who were the richest YouTubers in 2023?”, the clearest answer from this comparison is MrBeast: Forbes estimated $82 million in gross earnings for June 2022–June 2023 and placed him No. 1 on its Top Creators list. Guinness World Records separately identifies him as the highest-earning YouTube contributor for that same period, citing Forbes’ October 4, 2023 report. That historical earnings result is not a current net-worth ranking. Guinness World Records’ record page gives its record description.
