Dragon Delves is Wizards of the Coast’s 2025 collection of ten dragon-themed Dungeons & Dragons adventures for characters at levels 1–12. The adventures can be played individually or linked into a campaign, so it is an anthology rather than one continuous story by default. Its shifting art styles, dragon-lair settings and support for Dungeon Masters give it a distinctive presentation; whether the stories land is a matter of taste.
What is Dragon Delves?
Dragon Delves: An Adventure Anthology is an official D&D collection built around dragons. Wizards of the Coast says its ten adventures each take place in a different fantasy location and feature a distinctive dragon lair. The book also includes maps, quick-start guides for Dungeon Masters, advice on running the adventures separately or as a campaign, and a historical dragon art gallery before each adventure. The publisher describes the art as spanning ten distinct styles.
The official introduction sums up the premise: “Meet each of the chromatic and metallic dragons as you delve into unique lairs suitable for any campaign setting.” (D&D Beyond’s Dragon Delves source page.)
The physical edition is listed as 192 pages. D&D Beyond’s marketplace offers physical, digital and digital-plus-physical formats; the Wizards Play Network product page lists ISBN 0786969989. Release was July 8, 2025. Local game store early access began June 24, 2025, in the United States and Canada.

What adventures are included, and what levels do they cover?
The contents page lists these adventures and their starting character levels:

| Baker’s Doesn’t | 3 |
| The Will of Orcus | 4 |
| For Whom the Void Calls | 5 |
| The Dragon of Najkir | 7 |

| Before the Storm | 10 |
| Shivering Death | 11 |

Can you run the adventures separately or as a campaign?
Both approaches are supported. A DM can select an adventure that fits the party’s level and run it on its own, or use the book’s guidance to connect adventures into a dragon-themed campaign. The modular structure makes the collection useful when a group wants a self-contained session or story, while the campaign option gives a DM a way to build a longer through-line. The publisher supplies maps and quick-start DM guidance, but the available product description does not quantify how much preparation each adventure takes.
Can one player play these adventures?
Three adventures include sections titled “Running for One Character”: Baker’s Doesn’t, The Dragon of Najkir and A Copper for a Song. That is specific support for a single player character in those adventures, not an indication that all ten are designed exclusively for solo play. D&D Beyond identifies the sections in its contents listing.

What makes the anthology stand out?
A deliberately varied presentation
Ten art styles and a historical dragon art gallery before each adventure are official features, not just a reviewer’s impression. They give the collection a visual identity that changes from chapter to chapter, alongside its different settings and lairs.
A whimsical example in Baker’s Doesn’t
In GamesRadar+ reviewer Benjamin Abbott’s account, Baker’s Doesn’t is an especially offbeat entry: a strange bakery fire leads into a story involving a gold dragon, a candy cottage and comic candy-themed dangers. That fairy-tale oddness offers a concrete example of the book’s tonal range, but it should not be taken as representative of every adventure.

One reviewer’s verdict
Abbott’s GamesRadar+ review is positive overall. He praises the varied tones and illustrations, particularly the unusual charm of Baker’s Doesn’t, while noting that some plots felt familiar. Those are his judgments, not a measure of critical consensus. Read his GamesRadar+ review of Dragon Delves for his full assessment.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which DMs are likely to enjoy it?
Dragon Delves is most immediately useful to groups looking for dragon-centered adventures at several character levels, and to DMs who value the option to run chapters independently rather than commit to one long campaign. It may also appeal to tables drawn to visual variety and a mix of tones. If a group wants a tightly continuous story or wholly unfamiliar plots in every chapter, Abbott’s observation about familiar-feeling stories is worth keeping in mind—but it is one reviewer’s response, not a guarantee about how a particular table will feel.
