There is no single, apples-to-apples top 10 for the biggest shows across Netflix, Disney+, Max and other services: rankings measure different things. In the latest captured U.S. cross-service chart, JustWatch puts East of Eden at No. 1 and Lanterns at No. 2. For a complete ten-title list, a separate Netflix-only snapshot from October 6 names its top shows. Neither list should be mistaken for a unified audience ranking.
What are the biggest shows across streaming right now?
JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart, last updated at 09:11 on October 8, 2026, is the clearest captured cross-service snapshot. It ranks shows by activity on its streaming guide, not by the number of minutes people watched. The six visible leaders are:
- East of Eden — Netflix
- Lanterns — HBO Max
- Ted Lasso — Apple TV
- War — HBO Max
- Slow Horses — Apple TV
- American Horror Story — Hulu and other listed services
The chart extraction provides six usable ranks, not a complete top 10, so ranks seven through ten are not included. JustWatch says its rankings draw on activity over the previous 24 hours, seven days, or 30 days, including clicks on streaming offers, watchlist additions, and titles marked as seen. What is No. 1 on Netflix?
Tom’s Guide’s U.S. Netflix Top 10 snapshot, published for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, places East of Eden first. This is a dated, third-party Netflix-only chart, not a ranking across streaming services.

Tom’s Guide describes East of Eden as a seven-part period drama based on John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel and set in early twentieth-century California. Read the October 6 Netflix Top 10 snapshot. Netflix’s own Tudum Top 10 page explains that availability and chart coverage vary by country; its captured page does not expose the ranking rows above, so the list is attributed to Tom’s Guide rather than Netflix. Why different streaming charts show different leaders
A “biggest” show depends on the chart’s measurement, geography, and time window. These rankings answer related but distinct questions:

JustWatch maps titles to services, but catalogs and licensing can change by country and date. Netflix likewise warns that some titles are not available in all regions and that Top 10 lists exist only for selected countries and territories.

Nielsen’s displayed U.S. streaming chart uses viewing minutes rather than guide activity. Its captured entries begin with Why Did I Get Married Again? at 332 million minutes, The Seemingly Perfect Family at 308 million, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at 250 million, and Supergirl at 218 million. The remaining captured titles are Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (159 million), The Whisper Man (149 million), Practical Magic (139 million), The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (138 million), and Mayday (131 million).

- For a cross-service popularity signal, use the dated JustWatch leaders, while remembering that the chart reflects guide activity rather than viewing time.
- For Netflix’s U.S. list, use the October 6 snapshot above; do not treat it as a current Netflix chart for another date or country.
- For audience viewing minutes, consult Nielsen’s chart with its reporting week visible. The captured Nielsen figures here lack that date label.
- Check the service’s current catalog before settling on a title: availability changes, and the rankings do not establish that a show is available in every region.
