In May 2026, Moran said he was building RealPatriotism.com as a platform for his reporting, writing, interviews and travel reporting. TheWrap reported that the site was built on beehiiv and described the program elements as upcoming plans.

Moran described the venture this way: “We are building a new platform, RealPatriotism.com, and it’s going to be the home for all of my work and more.” TheWrap also quoted him saying, “In our country, the job of a journalist is to hold power to account, and that’s what I’ve tried to do as a reporter for 30 years. It’s getting harder.” Those are Moran’s descriptions of his aims, not confirmation that every planned feature is currently available.

Why did ABC News say it would not renew his contract?
ABC News said it had reached the end of its agreement with Moran and decided not to renew it based on a recent post that the network called “a clear violation of ABC News policies.” The Associated Press reported that ABC suspended Moran after the post criticized President Donald Trump and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, then announced the nonrenewal on June 10, 2025. AP separately reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that Moran’s contract was due to expire that Friday. Before his departure, ABC described Moran as an ABC News Live anchor and senior national correspondent who led its Supreme Court coverage. The network’s April 30, 2025 biography also records that he co-anchored Nightline from 2005 to 2013, served as chief foreign correspondent from 2013 to 2018, and previously covered the White House. His announced Supreme Court explainers and broader reporting therefore extend subjects he covered at ABC rather than marking an entirely unrelated career turn. ABC News
