King-Crews recalled that she first noticed light numbness in her left foot around 2012. Her trainer later noticed that her arm did not swing as she walked, and she subsequently recognized a shaking hand as a tremor. “It took three years to diagnose me,” she said, describing the period before her formal diagnosis in 2015, according to Global News.
She and Terry Crews discussed the diagnosis publicly on TODAY on April 6, 2026. King-Crews said she had kept it private for ten years. She explained that sharing her story was not about seeking sympathy: “I don’t believe in telling my story just so you can know my story and feel sorry for me,” she told Global News.

Her report after focused ultrasound
In the TODAY interview description, King-Crews said she had recently undergone bilateral focused ultrasound. She reported that she could write her name and dates with her right hand again and that her balance had improved, while emphasizing that she was still recovering. She described the procedure as “the new frontier of medicine,” but that is her view of her treatment experience, not proof of a general result.
Global News reported that she described the procedure as expensive and not yet covered. That statement reflects what she said at the time; costs and insurance coverage depend on circumstances and can change. The available coverage does not establish current payer rules or the procedure’s precise regulatory indication.

What is bilateral focused ultrasound?
Focused ultrasound is the clinical procedure King-Crews identified as part of her care. “Bilateral” means involving both sides. The coverage describes her procedure and reported recovery, but does not provide enough clinical or regulatory detail to explain who is eligible, how the procedure is performed in an individual case, or what outcomes others should expect. It should not be treated as a cure for Parkinson’s or as an appropriate option for every person with the disease.

Did Rebecca King-Crews have a second procedure?
Global News reported that King-Crews planned a second procedure in September 2026 to address symptoms on her left side. The report does not confirm whether that planned procedure took place or what its outcome was, so no later result can be inferred from the plan.

Terry Crews described the couple’s approach to the diagnosis as a shared commitment: “When it’s in sickness and health, this is the battle that we were designed to fight together,” he said, according to TODAY.
