The Beth and Rip Yellowstone sequel is officially called Dutton Ranch. What was described in November 2025 as an unexpected production update—a Texas shoot and a call for extras—has since become a released series: Paramount+ premiered it on May 15, 2026, and Paramount announced a second season on June 24.
What was the unexpected update?
A Nov. 7, 2025 report by Collider, reproduced in IMDb’s news feed, said the Beth-and-Rip spin-off was filming in Ferris, Texas, and that extras were being sought for several roles. The report listed ranch day workers and wranglers, an assistant to a character named Zane, and flight attendants and airport bartenders. It gave casting dates of Nov. 10–17, 2025.

Those dates have passed. The casting details remain a historical report attributed to Collider via IMDb; Paramount’s later official announcements did not independently confirm them. What is the spin-off called, and where does it fit?
The official title is Dutton Ranch. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The story follows the couple to Rio Paloma, Texas, where they seek a future while contending with a rival ranch. Paramount named Chad Feehan as showrunner and described the series as based on characters created by executive producers Taylor Sheridan and John Linson; Sheridan should not be described as the showrunner. Dutton Ranch is distinct from Marshals, the separate Kayce Dutton series. Paramount describes Marshals as following Kayce into an elite U.S. Marshals unit; its listed second-season premiere is Oct. 4, 2026. Those details concern Marshals, not Beth and Rip’s story. CBS/Paramount’s Marshals page.
When did Dutton Ranch premiere?
Paramount announced a May 15, 2026 premiere on Paramount+ and said the series would also air on Paramount Network. A May 5 trailer announcement located Beth and Rip in Rio Paloma and highlighted the conflict with a rival ranch. Premiere announcement and trailer announcement.

Was Dutton Ranch renewed?
Yes. Paramount announced a second season on June 24, 2026. In the same release, Paramount Television Studios reported that the series drew 12.9 million global viewers in its first seven days after the season-one premiere. That is the company’s reported audience figure, not an independently audited or cross-platform measurement. Paramount’s renewal announcement.
Paramount+ Head of Originals Jane Wiseman said, “Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world.” This was a promotional statement in the renewal announcement, rather than an independent critical judgment.
