Stepbrother Says He Saw His Stepsister’s Fiancé on Grindr During Live Radio Call

In a segment on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, a man identified as Ryan told his stepsister Chloe that he had seen a photograph of her fiancé, Mark, on Grindr. PerthNow reported on 17 January 2024 that the hosts called Chloe live so Ryan could explain what he said he had found. The report does not independently establish who operated the profile.

What Ryan said he saw

PerthNow’s 17 January 2024 account identifies Ryan, Chloe and Mark by first name only. Ryan said he was scrolling through Grindr when Mark’s picture appeared. As quoted in PerthNow’s coverage of the broadcast, Ryan said: “I was on Grindr, and I was scrolling through…and (her fiancé) Mark’s head popped up… he was throwing off a few gay vibes at Christmas,”

That is Ryan’s account of seeing a picture on the app; it does not by itself establish that Mark created or controlled the profile.

How Chloe reacted on air

After the hosts reached Chloe by phone, she initially questioned whether the call was a prank. PerthNow quoted her as saying, “I honestly don’t know what to say. Is this a prank? Are you guys pranking me?”

Ryan then sent her a screenshot. PerthNow reported that Chloe said, “It’s definitely him, it’s grainy but you can still see that it’s him,” and added, “It looks pretty recent, since he’s gotten really fit, for sure.” The report says she became tearful and that Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson urged her not to jump to conclusions.

What the report leaves unresolved

According to PerthNow, Kyle raised the possibility that somebody else might have been using Mark’s photos; Ryan did not believe that explanation. The article does not resolve who controlled the account or independently verify the identity of the person behind it. The quotations here are as PerthNow printed them; a primary audio transcript was not verified.
