He also praised Chan’s approach to the work: “He built worlds from scratch – and did so in the most collaborative and inclusive ways.” Recalling their last conversation, which Reynolds said had taken place two weeks earlier, he added: “One of (the) last things I said to him was that he makes magic and there’s nobody on earth like him.”
How did Hugh Jackman remember him?
Hugh Jackman shared his remembrance in Instagram Stories, according to an April 28, 2024 Hindustan Times report, which carried the statement through ANI. Jackman wrote: “I am devastated to hear of the tragic news about Ray Chan. There was not a day shooting when I didn’t marvel at what he created. He created magic.”

- Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprise their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine in this superhero action adventure sequel directed by Shawn Levy.
The dedication’s use of “Raymond Chan” refers to the same Ray Chan remembered by Reynolds and Jackman. Its phrase “our anchor being” offers a personal expression of how much the crew valued him; the credit does not spell out a separate formal job title in that wording.
