The first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer debuted during the Super Bowl on February 12, 2024. Marvel Studios announced a second trailer and two posters on April 22, so the April announcement was not the film’s first trailer. Ryan Reynolds stars as Deadpool alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
When did the trailers come out?
| Trailer event | Date | What was announced |
|---|---|---|
| First trailer | February 12, 2024 | Debuted during the Super Bowl. Disney UK’s announcement covered the debut. |
| New trailer and posters | April 22, 2024 | Marvel Studios announced another trailer and two posters. Disney UK’s announcement covered the later release. |
Disney said the first trailer drew 365 million views in its first 24 hours. In its February 13, 2024 announcement, The Walt Disney Company described it as the most-viewed movie trailer of all time at that time; that is a dated company claim, not a current ranking or a live view count. Disney’s announcement has the figure and qualification.

- Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake yet. His days as Deadpool behind him, a listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. But when his homeworld is threatened, he reluctantly suits up as he tries to convince Wolverine? oh hell, just watch. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
What did the filmmakers say about the characters?
At the film’s global press conference, Reynolds described Deadpool’s tonal shifts: “Deadpool can be philosophical in one moment and then have the brain of a half-eaten ham sandwich in the next,” D23 reported. Levy said, “The MCU is always at its best when it is giving us something we don’t expect.” D23’s account also recounts Jackman’s explanation of why he returned to Wolverine after saying Logan would be his last appearance: “I watched Deadpool three days after announcing that Logan would be my last [appearance as Wolverine], and I remember thinking, ‘Oops,’” he said with a laugh.
In a separate interview, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige said, “The secret to integrating Deadpool into the Disney company is to let Deadpool be Deadpool.” Feige also discussed the team-up and how the acquisition of 21st Century Fox made X-Men characters available to Marvel Studios; those points are his account of the company’s approach.
