What was Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death?
Early reports said the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s investigation was pending. On October 2, 2024, the Associated Press and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the examiner’s finding: his death was accidental and resulted from the combined toxic effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine and promethazine.
That later finding updates the September coverage, which accurately described the cause as undetermined while the examination and testing were underway. The medical examiner’s conclusion establishes the cause and manner; it does not, on its own, establish further circumstances.
How did his father’s message differ from the family statement?
In a separate Instagram story reported by the Los Angeles Times on September 6, 2024, Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, called him his “1st born” and “best friend.” That was his father’s personal tribute, distinct from the later collective statement.
