How the cancellation fit into that week
Vanity Fair reported that Kate had attended Trooping the Colour on 14 June and the Order of the Garter service on 16 June, before cancelling Royal Ascot two days later. That sequence provides context for the run of public appearances, but it does not prove why she cancelled the Ascot engagement.
