The Nicole Kidman mystery thriller is Scarpetta, and its complete first season is streaming on Prime Video. All eight episodes are available, making it possible to watch the season straight through; “one of the most bingeable” is a subjective description, not a measured ranking.
What is Scarpetta about?
Kidman stars as Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist who returns to her hometown and investigates a grisly murder. Amazon’s series description frames her as a voice for victims pursuing a serial killer while confronting whether the career-making case from 28 years earlier could also undo her. Amazon’s series guide describes the story and its central case.
How the two timelines work
The story moves between Kay’s late-1990s beginnings as chief medical examiner and the present day. This structure places the current investigation alongside the earlier case that shaped her career. Amazon establishes the dual timeline, but does not identify which specific Patricia Cornwell novel or novels the season adapts.
Is the full season available to binge?
Yes. Amazon’s series guide, updated March 19, 2026, says all eight first-season episodes are streaming on Prime Video. The guide says the series is available in more than 240 countries and territories, but catalogs can vary by market, so check the listing in your local Prime Video app or website. Amazon’s U.S. March release guide listed March 11, 2026, as the series date; it is not a universal regional release date. See Amazon’s availability guide and its U.S. March 2026 release listing.
