My Chemical Romance’s August 9, 2025, MetLife Stadium concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey, centered on The Black Parade, with Death Cab for Cutie and Thursday announced as special guests. In attendee Paul Debraski’s review, the album’s theatrical full-length performance gave the stadium-scale show its defining shape, while a later B-stage set offered a more intimate change of pace.
A stadium show built around The Black Parade
The tour was billed as a celebration of The Black Parade. The MLB/New York Mets announcement described the album as 4x Platinum and “Welcome To The Black Parade” as 5x Platinum; it also reported the band’s sophomore album as 3x Platinum. Those are certifications cited in the 2024 tour announcement, not statistics about this concert. Read the announcement.

In his August 11 account, attendee Paul Debraski describes the album performed in full as the opening main-stage section, presented with a new theatrical narrative, elaborate stage action, and supporting performers. His review calls the production ambitious, and he writes of the experience: “It was unbelievably fantastic.” That is one attendee’s verdict, not an official production description or a measure of audience consensus. Read Debraski’s review.
The main stage and B-stage offered different experiences
The album’s theatrical scale
Debraski found the large-scale show compelling even from farther back in the stadium. The production’s narrative and stage action gave the album section a visual dimension beyond a straightforward run-through of the record.

A closer-feeling second set
In the same review, Debraski says the band later moved to a B-stage for a shorter set. He describes that segment as a nod to longtime New Jersey fans and says it made him wish he had been closer. The contrast is a useful part of his account: the main-stage section emphasized theatrical scale, while the B-stage made proximity feel more important. His experience should not be taken as a guarantee of what every seat offered.
Debraski also recalls the concert closing with a performance of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” This detail comes from his personal account rather than an authoritative setlist record.

What songs did My Chemical Romance play at MetLife Stadium?
The account available here supports saying that The Black Parade was performed in full during the main-stage section. It also reports a later, shorter B-stage set and the closing Bon Jovi cover, “Livin’ on a Prayer.” It does not establish a complete, independently verified song-by-song setlist, so those details should not be presented as one.
