The Melania Trump popcorn bucket was reported as a limited-edition concession item at theaters showing Melania when the documentary opened on January 30, 2026. Gizmodo reported a $12.99 price on January 28, but that past promotion does not confirm current theater stock or resale availability.
When and where was the bucket offered?
Gizmodo reported that participating theaters showing Melania would begin offering the bucket on Friday, January 30, 2026, the film’s listed release date. The report called it “limited-edition,” but did not provide a production quantity or sales total. The phrase “this weekend” in the January 28 article referred to the opening weekend in January 2026—not the current weekend.
Gizmodo’s January 28, 2026 report credited Regal for the bucket image. The film listing at Fever identifies Melania as a documentary dated January 30, 2026.
What was the reported price?
The reported theater price was $12.99, according to Gizmodo in January 2026. That figure describes the promotion at the time; it does not establish a current resale price, present availability, or whether every participating theater charged the same amount.

Can you still buy one?
The available reporting does not establish whether any theaters still have buckets, whether there are current resale listings, or whether the item is available on Amazon. Gizmodo mentioned eBay listings around the time of its article but said their source was uncertain. Those listings are not evidence of current stock or authenticity.
If you encounter a listing, check who is selling it, the item’s condition, the full delivered price, and whether the listing provides convincing evidence that it is the Regal-credited bucket described in the report. No current seller or listing has been verified here.

Was it the first documentary-related movie collectible?
No such first-ever claim is supported. Regal senior communications manager Kevan Karr told Gizmodo that Regal had frequently offered collectible movie-themed containers across genres since Barbie opened on July 21, 2023, including containers connected to non-fiction releases. Karr cited Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration and said musician films can combine band history with music, making it difficult to call Melania the first documentary associated with a collectible container. This is Regal’s representative describing the company’s practice, not an independent audit of every theater collectible.
