Menudo: Forever Young is a four-part documentary about the Puerto Rican boy band’s rise and fall. It pairs the group’s fame with former members’ accounts of alleged abuse and exploitation. The series premiered at Tribeca in 2022 before its HBO Max debut; current streaming availability depends on your region.
What is Menudo: Forever Young about?
The series traces Menudo’s ascent and decline, setting its global tours, magazine covers, 1980s fashion and devoted fans against interviews with more than a dozen former members. Those interviews examine allegations of abuse and exploitation, which the documentary presents through the accounts of participants. The descriptions of the series do not establish those allegations as independent findings or legal conclusions.

Director Ángel Manuel Soto described the Puerto Rican diaspora in New York as important to Menudo’s U.S. crossover. In a Warner Bros. Discovery announcement, he said fans shut down traffic around the band’s hotel and that the group sold out Madison Square Garden multiple times. Those are Soto’s attributed recollections, not independently verified figures.
How many episodes are there, and what are they called?
Amazon Prime Video lists four episodes. The page gives the following titles and runtimes:
#1 Best Overall
| Episode | Runtime listed on Prime Video |
|---|---|
| “Small Change” | 44 minutes |
| “Big Bucks” | 47 minutes |
| “The Allegations” | 44 minutes |
| “The Legacy” | 37 minutes |
The third episode’s title makes the allegations a distinct part of the series’ structure. These runtimes describe the episodic listing, not the festival presentation.
Who directed the series?
Warner Bros. Discovery credits Ángel Manuel Soto as director of all four episodes, with Kristofer Ríos co-directing episodes three and four. The Tribeca archive uses different credit wording: it lists Soto as director and Ríos as co-executive producer. The distinction reflects the credits as reported by each source.
When did it premiere?
Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the four-part Max Original would premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 11, 2022, and that all episodes would arrive on HBO Max on June 23, 2022. The Tribeca archive records a 91-minute festival presentation in English and Spanish with English subtitles. That is a festival-program runtime and format, distinct from the four episode runtimes listed by Prime Video.
Where can you watch Menudo: Forever Young?
Amazon Prime Video has a listing for the series, but a listing does not guarantee that it is currently available in every country or under the same terms. Check the title in your local streaming service to confirm access, subscription or rental requirements, and language options. Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement establishes the HBO Max premiere date, not permanent availability in every market.

The Prime Video page accessed on October 8, 2026, displayed an HBO Max offer, English and Spanish (Spain) audio among its options, a broad selection of subtitles, and a flashing-lights advisory. These are page details from that access date, not promises about what a viewer will see in another region or later. The listing showed episode dates of June 22, 2022; Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement gives June 23 as the HBO Max launch date.

No physical DVD or Blu-ray release of the documentary is established by the available listings. A related Menudo compilation, La Historia, is described in a tertiary reference as having CD and CD/DVD editions, but that does not verify a particular edition’s contents, current stock, or availability.
