Marvel’s official listings confirm an Avengers: Doomsday X-Men teaser and a later theatrical trailer, but they do not establish when a Thor teaser first appeared online or when the X-Men teaser began playing in theaters. Those are separate rollout claims from the film’s release date—and the release date itself differs between the US and UK.
What Marvel’s official listings confirm
Marvel Entertainment published the video titled “The X-Men Will Return | Avengers: Doomsday in Theaters December 18, 2026” on January 6, 2026. The listing confirms an X-Men-themed promotional video for the film and names December 18, 2026, but does not establish when or where that video was first shown beyond its online listing.
Marvel later listed “Avengers: Doomsday | Official Trailer | In Theaters December 18” on July 20, 2026. Disney+ likewise labels its listing “Theatrical Trailer Available Now” and says the film is only in theaters in December 2026. These listings establish online availability of trailer material; they do not prove the specific Thor-online and X-Men-theatrical timing suggested by the headline.
Online trailer, theatrical teaser, and film release are different events
An online trailer listing shows that promotional video is available on a digital platform. A teaser playing before a movie in cinemas is a separate exhibition event, and the feature film’s theatrical opening date is a third event. Evidence for one does not establish the timing of the others.

Accordingly, the official listings here do not verify that a Thor trailer was newly posted online, nor do they establish the date the X-Men teaser began screening in theaters. They do confirm that Marvel promoted the X-Men’s return in an Avengers: Doomsday video and subsequently listed an official trailer.
Avengers: Doomsday release dates by region
| Region | Release date stated by official source | Source context |
|---|---|---|
| US | December 18, 2026 | Marvel Entertainment’s January 6 X-Men video title and July 20 official trailer listing. |
| UK | December 16, 2026 | Disney UK’s July 20, 2026 press release. |
These are regional dates, not a contradiction: Disney UK gives the UK opening date, while Marvel’s video titles give December 18. Disney UK’s July 20 announcement also said a new trailer and poster were available. It described Infinity Vision as a certification for Premium Large Format theaters.

- Incredible Thor figure

What remains unconfirmed
- The exact date a Thor teaser or trailer first became available online.
- The exact date the X-Men teaser began playing in theaters.
- Whether the particular Thor and X-Men rollout sequence implied by the headline occurred as described.
The official listings cited above establish the videos and release-date framing, but not those rollout dates. Without a direct source documenting each event, the headline’s timing should be treated as unverified rather than as a confirmed announcement.
