The denial, reported by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on August 16, 2024, addressed a rumor during the couple’s separation. It is not independent confirmation of whether CPS did or did not investigate.
What did Mama June say about CPS?
According to The Ashley’s account of a Facebook post, June wrote, “There is no CPS case.” She also reportedly said that the children did not live with Josh’s mother, that Josh lived with his girlfriend, and that Pumpkin lived in the family home. June described that home as the children’s “safe spot.” These are statements attributed to June by the outlet; the original post was not independently reviewed for this account.
The available reporting does not include a statement from a child-welfare agency or a CPS case record. June’s denial should therefore be understood as her reported response to a rumor, not as independently verified agency status.
How the CPS rumor relates to the divorce
The CPS rumor surfaced amid the couple’s separation, but the reporting does not establish that the divorce caused or was connected to any CPS involvement. The divorce coverage and June’s response are separate pieces of information: one reports court-related terms, while the other recounts her social-media denial.

Divorce filing and reported terms
Access reported on August 2, 2024, that Lauryn filed for divorce on August 1, after six years of marriage. Access said its account was based on court documents it obtained. It reported that the settlement covered property, alimony, custody, and child support, with joint legal and physical custody and no child support.
Finalization and parenting schedule
In September 2024, The Ashley reported that the divorce had been finalized. It described equal parenting time and a week-on/week-off schedule if the parents could not agree on arrangements. The outlet also reported that the parents planned to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with their children together. These details are secondary reporting, not a determination about either parent’s fitness or the children’s safety.

Who are the children mentioned in the reports?
Entertainment reporting identifies Pumpkin and Josh’s four children as Ella, Bentley, and twins Sylus and Stella. The August 2024 report about June’s post and Access’s divorce coverage both refer to the children in the context of the family’s living arrangements and custody.

In August 2025, The Ashley reported that June disputed Josh’s account of her role in the breakdown of the marriage, quoting her as saying, “It was just a very toxic relationship and I’m glad it’s over with.” That was June’s characterization as reported by the outlet; it does not provide evidence about CPS.

Us Weekly reported in April 2026 on a preview of a later WE tv episode in which Pumpkin and Josh discussed relationships and co-parenting tensions. Those later program discussions are distinct from the 2024 rumor and June’s reported denial. None of the reviewed coverage independently establishes whether CPS opened—or did not open—a case.
