The performance mixed material from his standard routine with jokes tailored to the conference, according to contemporaneous reporting; the excerpts published afterward are not a complete transcript.
When John Mulaney performed at Dreamforce
Dreamforce 2024 took place in San Francisco. Salesforce’s official speaker listing included Mulaney, and TechCrunch reported that he performed on Thursday, September 19. The listing confirms his place in the event lineup; the date and description of the set come from TechCrunch’s contemporaneous report.
What Mulaney reportedly said about AI and San Francisco
TechCrunch described the set as taking aim at the technology crowd and the conference context, including its AI theme. The report attributed this line to Mulaney: “Let me get this straight,” Mulaney reportedly said. “You’re hosting a ‘future of AI’ event in a city that has failed humanity so miserably?” The wording is a reported excerpt, not an independently authenticated transcript of the full performance.
How the set compared with Seth Meyers’s Dreamforce appearance
TechCrunch compared Mulaney’s performance with Seth Meyers’s set at the previous year’s Dreamforce. Its account suggests a difference in emphasis: the Mulaney excerpts targeted AI and the tech audience, while the Meyers excerpt poked at corporate self-affirmation and jargon. Meyers joked: “You are achieving, you are amplifying, you are accelerating,” he said. “‘Architect?’ I saw ‘architect’ used as a verb. I don’t even think architects use ‘architect’ as a verb.”

The comparison is limited to the material TechCrunch reported. It does not establish how much of either comedian’s full set was written specifically for Dreamforce.
What the available accounts establish—and what they don’t
A separate SFGate report from September 2024 says Mulaney referred to performing at a Salesforce conference while answering an audience question at a San Francisco show. That offers separate context for the Dreamforce reference, but it is not a transcript or independent account of the conference set.
