Yes. Jason Isaacs’s character, Timothy Ratliff, has a brief full-frontal exposure in season 3, episode 4 of The White Lotus, “Hide or Seek.” Isaacs’s co-stars Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook later said the visible penis was a prosthetic.
Which episode is the scene in?
The moment appears in season 3, episode 4, “Hide or Seek.” Timothy is affected by Lorazepam, which he has been taking from his wife Victoria’s supply. As his family is present, his robe falls open. The scene is a short, uncomfortable comic beat within a story about his growing loss of control.
Season 3 is set in Thailand. Isaacs plays Timothy, a North Carolina financier vacationing with his family while facing a financial investigation and the prospect of ruin. TIME’s season profile describes Isaacs’s approach to the character as giving viewers “people whose lives are absolutely falling apart.” TIME’s profile of the season and character provides that broader context.
Was the exposed penis real?
No. In a TV Insider interview, Sam Nivola, who plays Timothy’s son Lochlan, said, “That wasn’t his real penis.” Sarah Catherine Hook, who plays Piper, confirmed, “It was a prosthetic.” Those answers are the co-stars’ confirmation as reported by TV Insider; they should not be attributed to Isaacs. TV Insider’s report on the scene and prosthetic identifies the episode and records their comments.

Why did the scene become a press-tour talking point?
The scene prompted questions about male nudity and whether Isaacs had worn a prosthetic. In a later Variety interview, Isaacs said his earlier “double standard” comment was poorly phrased: “I said the wrong words in the wrong way.” He clarified that he did not mean men had experienced worse treatment, adding, “women have been monstrously exploited and men haven’t.” He also said he should not have mentioned two actresses he respected.
Isaacs described repeated questions about whether he had worn a prosthetic as “embarrassing and inappropriate” and said, “It just strikes me as a bit weird and slightly obsessive.” His clarification separates two issues: the long history of women’s exploitation in cinema, which he acknowledged, and his discomfort with persistent questions about his own body. Variety’s interview with Isaacs reports his explanation.

What the scene adds to Timothy’s story
The exposure is not presented as a standalone spectacle. It lands while Timothy is intoxicated and under pressure from the financial investigation threatening his family’s wealth. The gap between his polished patriarch image and his visible unraveling gives the moment its comic discomfort. For the scene’s immediate circumstances, Men’s Health’s account discusses Timothy’s Lorazepam use and mounting pressure.
