Days later, he clarified that he was not homeless “in the colloquial sense.” His account describes having no settled home, not living on the street or in a car; the financial and housing details are his statements, not an independently audited picture.
What Spacey meant by “no home”
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph on November 19, 2025, Spacey said he had lost his Baltimore home and was moving between hotels and Airbnbs near available work. The Los Angeles Times reported his description the following day, including his words: “I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”
Spacey attributed the situation to costs he said had been “astronomical” over the preceding seven years, little money coming in, and expenses going out. Those comments explain his account of why he lost the house; they do not establish his finances independently.
His clarification about homelessness
On November 23, 2025, after people offered him a place to stay, Spacey said it would be “disingenuous” to let them believe he was homeless in the colloquial sense. As the Los Angeles Times reported, he described staying in hotels and Airbnbs and going where work was available, while distinguishing that from living on the street or in a car.

The two remarks are best read together: Spacey said he lacked a settled home and was using temporary lodging, then expressly rejected the more specific impression that he was living without shelter. The November 2025 reports do not establish where he lives now.

The housing account appeared against the backdrop of separate legal proceedings. Their outcomes should not be conflated: a civil finding of not liable, a criminal not-guilty verdict, and a settlement before trial are different results and apply to different claims.

| Proceeding | Outcome | What the outcome means here |
|---|---|---|
| Anthony Rapp civil case, New York, 2022 | A Manhattan jury found Spacey not liable. | This was a civil verdict in Rapp’s case; it does not decide every allegation against Spacey. The New York Times reported the verdict. |
| UK criminal trial, 2023 | A jury found Spacey not guilty of nine sexual offences involving four men. | This was the result of that criminal trial, not a ruling on every allegation or later civil claim. The Guardian reported the verdict. |
| London civil claims, 2026 | Three men settled their claims before trial. | The terms were not disclosed, proceedings were stayed by consent, and Spacey denied the allegations. A settlement is not a verdict or admission. The Associated Press reported the settlements. |
What is established—and what is not
- In November 2025, Spacey said he had lost his Baltimore home and was staying in hotels and Airbnbs while traveling for work.
- He later clarified that he did not mean he was homeless in the colloquial sense.
- The cited coverage does not independently verify his finances or establish his current living arrangements.
- The legal outcomes belong to distinct cases. The 2026 civil claims ended in a pretrial settlement, not a finding of liability; Spacey denied those claims.
